<p>Around two minutes past midnight on April 1st, the 40-year-old artist uploaded a black-and-white photo on social media bearing the phrase &ldquo;1983-2024,&rdquo; accompanied by an update to his official Wikipedia page stating his "death" on March 29, 2023.</p>
<p>At 4:52 am, an "obituary" was shared, humorously referring to the star as a "Ghosician," a nod to his 2021 album. The post outlined details for his "wake" scheduled from 2 pm to 10 pm, followed by a "farewell ceremony" from 8 to 10 pm, all slated to take place at the Nirvana Center Kuala Lumpur, billed as Asia&rsquo;s first integrated memorial centre.</p>
<p>A report by The Straits Times later confirmed that Nirvana Asia Group had received a reservation for the venue on the evening of April 1st under Namewee&rsquo;s team and directed further inquiries to Namewee&rsquo;s team for additional details.</p>

<p>W when the posts were made, many fans quickly noted the date and realized it was an April Fool&rsquo;s prank. The reactions to the prank were mixed, with some fans initially shocked before realizing the post was a joke.</p>
