For those who didn&rsquo;t know, Tesla has an autopilot mode which allows users to sit back and relax while the car navigates itself with radars watching the lanes. By far, this is the most useful feature in any car out there and probably one of few cars that actually nailed the system.
Unfortunately, despite how cool it looks, the Malaysian police were not too happy about it and are currently investigating the videos posted by the couple during their road trip.

Chief assistant director Superintendent Bakri Zainal Abidin of the Bukit Aman Traffic investigations and Enforcement had stated that their actions were prohibited in Malaysia. The investigation was launched with reference to the Land Transport Act 1987.
One thing to note about the Tesla that it isn&rsquo;t a &ldquo;full self-driving&rdquo; system even though it has a Full Self-Driving Hardware fitted into the vehicle. Due to that, the vehicle was rendered as not fully autonomous, and it still requires the driver&rsquo;s attention.
&ldquo;The autopilot feature in Tesla cars is helpful to drivers, but that doesn&rsquo;t mean that drivers can completely take their hands off the steering wheel and mistakenly think that the system can automatically and safely control the car&rdquo; said Bakri.
Hands-Free driving deemed unsafe as drivers are less attentive

The functions of the autopilot may lead drivers to become inattentive and incentive to road conditions according to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Bakri did however mention that Malaysia currently has no laws against automated driving, but due to these systems, it doesn&rsquo;t help drivers to keep their full attention on driving as the car cannot determine if the driver is still sitting in the vehicle.
Another factor towards why PDRM is investigating this is due to safety reasons such as drivers paying less attention to traffic and using their phones instead. Bakri had also said that the Road Traffic Rules 1959 calls for good attitude, caution and concentration while driving.
It&rsquo;s no lie that future vehicles will be equipped with automated driving functions but that doesn&rsquo;t mean that drivers shouldn&rsquo;t pay attention on the road as human reactions can also prevent an accident if the system were to suddenly fail.
Areas such as rural areas are areas where drivers will need their full attention and focus as that&rsquo;s the few hotspots for accidents.

Back in 2019, an accident in California happened when a driver who was using the autopilot function had ran a red light and slammed into another car. The driver of the vehicle was charged for manslaughter in 2022 as two people died during the incident, and this goes to show how dangerous it can be to use autopilot.
To give the Tiktokers credit, they have admitted that when driving, they actually keep their hands on the wheel at all times as they understand the circumstances that can happen. They had only taken their hands off the wheel to just show how the system works.

In fact, Tesla&rsquo;s own system states that drivers using autopilot will require their hands to be on the wheel at all times if not the system will disable the autopilot feature.
Hopefully the coupe don&rsquo;t face any harsh punishment from their videos. In fact, I believe their videos had really shown Malaysians the true future of EV and how useful it is. If it wasn&rsquo;t for them, half of us also wouldn&rsquo;t know that there&rsquo;s that many EV stops around Malaysia.

Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli has officially announced his resignation from the Cabinet, ending his tenure as Malaysia&rsquo;s Minister of Economy. In a statement released on 28 May 2025 and echoed in a social media post the same day, Rafizi confirmed that his resignation will take effect on 17 June 2025. He will begin utilising the remainder of his annual leave starting immediately, which will run until 16 June.

The two-term Setiawangsa MP confirmed he submitted his resignation letter to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and will officially vacate his ministerial post on 4 July. He will be on leave from 29 May until the day before his departure.
In a statement, Nik Nazmi acknowledged that his role as PKR vice-president was a key factor in his Cabinet appointment. With that mandate now lost, he said it was appropriate for him to make way. He also failed to defend his position as Setiawangsa PKR chief during the party&rsquo;s divisional elections last month.

Kopi was a familiar figure in the Besut district, known to many residents and animal lovers for her calm and affectionate demeanour. Her popularity soared in March 2024, after a video went viral on social media showing her gently playing with a stray kitten. The video, uploaded by one of her feeders, Abby Razali, garnered widespread attention and led to a wave of online affection.
But that public goodwill turned into collective outrage when news broke that Kopi had been shot dead during a stray dog culling operation carried out by the Besut District Council. The shooting occurred in the early hours of 6 October 2024, reportedly around 1.30am.
According to Dr Kartini Farah Abdul Rahim, one of the plaintiffs, several residents were awakened by the sound of gunshots. Upon investigating, they observed three council officers driving around in a pick-up truck. Shortly after, Kopi was found dead from gunshot wounds. Her death, initially revealed via a post on the &ldquo;My Forever Doggo&rdquo; Instagram account, prompted widespread condemnation and demands for accountability.
Legal Grounds: Alleged Breach of Animal Welfare Law

The plaintiffs are therefore seeking a declaration from the court that the use of firearms in this case was not legally justified, and that the authorities acted beyond the bounds of the law.
Challenging Local By-Laws
Beyond the immediate question of Kopi&rsquo;s death, the case also seeks to address a broader legal conflict between federal and local regulations. The activists are challenging the legality of the Besut District Council&rsquo;s Dog Licensing By-Laws 1990, specifically Sections 9(1) and 9(2), which empower council officers to shoot licensed or unlicensed dogs if no owner can be located.
The plaintiffs argue that these by-laws are incompatible with the stricter protections afforded by the Animal Welfare Act, a federal law that supersedes local legislation. They assert that allowing council officers to indiscriminately kill strays undermines national legal standards and sets a dangerous precedent.
Government and Council&rsquo;s Defence

A statement issued by the Besut District Council on 13 October 2024 maintained that the actions taken during the culling operation were lawful. However, this justification has failed to appease critics, who argue that even if procedures were followed, the procedures themselves may be unlawful under federal law.

After years of speculation, teasing, and public demand, WhatsApp has officially launched a native app for the iPad. Malaysia is once again celebrating a landmark moment in badminton history as national shuttlers Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin Rumsani officially become the world's top-ranked men&rsquo;s doubles pair, according to the latest Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings released on 27 May 2025. This milestone marks the first time a Malaysian men's doubles duo has ascended to the coveted No.1 position in nearly a decade.
A Return to the Summit After Almost a Decade
Goh and Nur, known affectionately by fans as FeiDin, now sit atop the global rankings with 91,090 points, surpassing Denmark&rsquo;s Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen, who dropped to second place after failing to defend their title at the recently concluded Malaysia Masters. The Danes were dethroned following their semi-final loss to fellow Malaysians Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik.

Although Goh and Nur themselves bowed out in the quarter-finals of the same tournament after losing to another Malaysian pair, Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun, their consistent performances over the past year were enough to push them into the top spot. Their victory at the India Open in January 2025 was a pivotal moment, bolstering their climb after strong showings in 2024, which included titles at the Japan Open, China Open, and Arctic Open, as well as runner-up finishes at the BWF World Tour Finals and the Asian Championships.
This achievement makes Goh and Nur the first Malaysian men's doubles team to reach the world No.1 ranking since Goh V Shem and Tan Wee Kiong in March 2016. They also join a legendary group of Malaysian shuttlers who once held the same honour, including the Sidek brothers (Razif and Jalani), Cheah Soon Kit-Yap Kim Hock, and Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong.
Notably, this also marks the first time any Malaysian badminton player has reached world No.1 since singles icon Lee Chong Wei last held the spot in June 2017.
Staying on Top: The Challenge Ahead

While the pair have every reason to celebrate, former world No.1 Datuk Razif Sidek offered a word of caution. Speaking to local media, Razif praised the pair's success but reminded them that staying at the top is significantly harder than reaching it.
&ldquo;Congratulations to them &ndash; this is a fantastic achievement. But they must not get complacent. When you&rsquo;re number one, everyone is watching and targeting you. The pressure will be immense,&rdquo; he said.
Razif emphasised that without consistent performance and proper preparation, the pair risks losing their hard-earned position. &ldquo;Being on top must be motivation, not a destination. They must continue to train hard and think like champions if they are to remain at the peak,&rdquo; he added.
Spotlight on the Singapore Open

The Malaysians must reach at least the final to maintain their position. Should the Danish pair win the tournament and Goh-Nur exit early, the No.1 ranking could be lost as quickly as it was earned.
That said, the Danes have semi-final points from last year&rsquo;s Singapore Open to defend, while Goh and Nur could widen their lead by as much as 4,000 points if they reach the last four and Astrup-Rasmussen fall short in the quarters.
