As we all know, the HP three-month-long Mentorship Project has officially come to an end, after 11 Malaysian mentees, under the guidance of three industry professionals, have finalized and released their NFTs.
The HP Mentorship was done completely online, therefore naturally the first difficulty here was scheduling the online lessons, as the mentors and mentees were located all around Malaysia, with most of the mentees being students, and one of them living in Sabah. However, thanks to their never-ending creativity and cutting-edge HP laptops, everyone managed to create their NFTs, which for singer and songwriter mentor Zee Avi, was truly an exciting and new experience for her, as she was able to make her own NFTs so soon after just learning about it.

The online singing and songwriting lessons were conducted twice a week, often in the afternoon and in the evening, with mentor Zee trying her best to be fully prepared for her mentees, supporting them in anything they needed, which included hours on Zoom calls to connect better with her mentees, where they listened to music for inspiration, and wrote down any ideas and notes on their HP devices.
For mentor Zee Avi, the most important thing to teach her mentees was the importance of collaboration with others, as she believes that teamwork truly makes the dream work, thus why her favourite part during the HP Mentorship Project was the ability to work closely with her fellow mentors and all the creative mentees, where everyone was able to create lifelong friendships with each other.

According to mentee Jason Cheong, having Zee Avi as a mentor was an amazing experience as not only is she one of his ultimate musical idols, but she also made sure to create a safe and inclusive space for all the mentees to freely express themselves creatively.
In regards to any problems faced by the mentee, Jason&rsquo;s biggest difficulty during the HP Mentorship Project was the fact that he was situated in Sabah while others were in KL, however what initially was a worry for Jason, soon enough became an easy task to solve, all thanks to today&rsquo;s technology, specifically with his HP Spectre x 360, which enabled him to easily collaborate online with others, allowing him to remotely record his vocals and create the song together with his mentor.
Creating NFTs with HP&nbsp;
Like many of us, we often get excited when we discover special features on our tech devices, and that was exactly how Jason felt when he found out that that the HP laptop could easily fold, allowing the song-writing mentee to enjoy and make full use of the 2-in-1 laptop's flexibility and portability, along with its' large and vibrant 2:3 screen which helps him during his performances.

However, things were not as easy as it seems, as the mentee initially found it difficult to conceptualise the track that would be paired with the NFTs due to the differences in how each songwriter created their music, but in spite of that, all the mentees were able to overcome the obstacles thanks to their mentor Zee who helped come up with the lyrics and the storytelling, and with a concept in mind, all mentees began to find inspiration on their HP laptops, often taking notes on the HP Spectre x 360&rsquo;s touchscreen, listening to their favourite dreamy music, and looking at images and videos of nudibranchs living in Malaysian waters.
Once again, this remote mentorship would have not been possible without having the amazing opportunity to work with cutting-edge HP laptops, which have allowed all participants to work closely with other talented mentees and respected professionals to create new forms of art.&nbsp;

But it looks like things will be changing in the Apple scene thanks to the latest announcement at this year&rsquo;s WWDC.
Apple To Finally Take Gaming Seriously

This year, we saw some pretty impressive announcements coming from the event with Apple&rsquo;s RM16,000 Vision Pro stealing the spotlight.

Aside from that, many were eyeing the new 15-inch MacBook Air and the latest M2 processor. But among the announcements, the one that stood out from the crowd was when Apple announced a new Gaming Porting Toolkit that could hopefully be able to port Windows games over to Mac easier and quicker.

The new Gaming Porting Toolkit is similar to what Valve has done with Proton and the Steam Deck. The toolkit will be powered by source code from Crossover which is a wine-based solution for running Windows games on macOS.
&ldquo;The new Game Porting Toolkit provides an emulation environment to run your existing unmodified Windows game and you can use it to quickly understand the graphics feature usage and performance potential of your game when running on a Mac,&rdquo; said the engineering project manager for GPUs and graphics Aiswariya Sreenivassan.
Pretty Impressive Tool For The Future Of Gaming On Mac OS

If you thought porting over Windows games to a Mac was impressive, what&rsquo;s more impressive is the fact that the toolkit will support DirectX 12 games as it supports their Direct X12 API. The toolkit aims to transform the Windows API calls into its proprietary Metal API while also adapting the x86 instructions for compatibility with Apple Silicon.
Additionally, it will handle the translation of essential APIs for input control, audio, and other functions specific to MacOS. This development presents an opportunity to assess the gaming capabilities of Apple's GPU and evaluate its performance. While Apple frequently touts impressive performance metrics, the lack of supported titles has made it challenging to gauge its standing compared to conventional PC hardware.
Addressing Smoothness Issues

Now, with something revolutionary comes a set of issues and one of those being how games will run in this environment. One of the biggest concerns that will arise would be optimization as there are bound to be bugs and issues as each developer will need to come up with their own ports.&nbsp;
So far, Reddit users have already managed to try their hands at porting games over as one user had managed to run Cyberpunk 2077 on a M1 MacBook Pro at 15fps. Sounds like the time the game came out and even had Windows stability issues hahaha.

Porting Windows games to Mac has historically been a challenging process for developers, involving recompiling source code, converting shaders, re-implementing graphics subsystems, and adapting audio, input, and HDR rendering. However, Apple now offers tools that simplify this process. Developers can assess the required porting work and optimize their games on macOS using Apple's tool, along with the Metal Shader Converter that automatically converts GPU shaders to Metal. These tools greatly reduce the time and effort needed to successfully port games from Windows to Mac.
If Apple keeps this up, we can soon bridge the gap between Windows and Mac users who love gaming. Yeah, the dream is distant but with what was shown this week, that dream can potentially be a reality.
Pro-tip, if the dream does become reality, it's best for Mac users to pair their MacBooks to an external monitor with a higher refresh rate. Though the M1 and M2 Macbook Pro do come with ProMotion adaptive refresh rate that hits 120hz, it would still be a safer idea for you to run games on the external monitor to prevent screen tearing.

Looks like controversial comedian Jocelyn Chia is back online as she&rsquo;s gained access to her Instagram account again.
Yesterday, we stated that her social media pages have been blacked out as it was rumoured that she had been banned from them. While she wasn&rsquo;t online, many including Harith Iskander and the wife of one of the victims on board have voiced out their opinions about her comedic act of insulting the MH370 tragedy. Even the Singapore High Commissioner To Malaysia issued an apology on social media due to her insensitive joke.

Dismisses Suspension For Being &ldquo;Cancelled&rdquo;

The first thing Chia did when she got her account back was to post up an Instagram story as she addressed the rumours of her account being blacked out. &ldquo;Rumour had it that I either deleted my Instagram or that I got &lsquo;cancelled&rsquo; by Instagram. My account actually got suspended for &lsquo;impersonating&rsquo; a celebrity.&rdquo;
&ldquo;I was like, &lsquo;who is the celebrity? Answer: Jocelyn Chia,&rdquo; while adding Famous by Kanye West for her story audio of choice (another cancelled celebrity).

Aside from addressing the rumours on her social media, Chia also took the opportunity to thank the comedy community who supported her despite the backlash she was facing. One of them was Malaysian comedian Jason Leong who was also bashed by other Malaysians after he showed support for her act.

Following the story, she took a hit at her &ldquo;exes&rdquo; which many presume to be angry Malaysians and joked by using Taylor Swift&rsquo;s &lsquo;We Are Never Getting Back Together&rsquo; as her song choice. To put an end to her post, she also thanked the non-binary comedians and joked that she would &ldquo;really get cancelled&rdquo; if she hasn&rsquo;t done so.
No Public Apology In Sight
After all the hate posts of her online, Chia has yet to post a public apology as the former Singaporean does not look like she has any remorse. Since then, Singapore&rsquo;s Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan has also issued an apology after replying to Syed Saddiq on Twitter.

Jocelyn Chia Is Back On IG, Denies Being “Cancelled” And Has Yet To Apologise For Her Joke

Having a family go missing is one of the most concerning things anyone could ever face. But the worse part of it all is knowing that they are still alive but forced to work as piglets (someone of low financial and social status into indentured servitude).
Recently, 22-year-old beautician Angie Chong Sum Yee went on a trip to Chiang Mai, Thailand alone and had since gone missing.

The last time her family had heard from her was on 1 June when she sent photos of her travelling towards the northernmost district Mae Sai in the Chang Rai province which has a history of human trafficking cases in the past.
After her mother had put up a post on Facebook to get assistance from the public, the Malaysian embassy in Thailand has been working closely with authorities to locate her. She was last seen leaving a location on a motorcycle with a woman dressed in white.

Video Of Angie Suddenly Appears On Facebook
In the days she was missing, her WeChat status had been updated stating she is safe and her location had also changed. This time, three suspicious videos of her were uploaded on Facebook by a new Facebook account that went by the name &ldquo;Moe Aye&rdquo;.
Now, here&rsquo;s the suspicious part, of the three videos uploaded, two of them were taken by a camera that filmed a phone playing a video of Angie.
As the videos are being reposted and shared everywhere, many netizens pointed out that Angie looks rather unnatural in the video as if she was forced to film it.

In another 22-second video, it's seen that she was working at an undisclosed location.

What was even more suspicious was that Angie&rsquo;s Instagram account has also posted &ldquo;updates&rdquo; stating that she is okay and has contacted her family. She also stated that all the videos seen on Facebook and websites about her were real.
No Rest Till She&rsquo;s Back Safely
Despite all the circulating videos, Angie&rsquo;s mother Chee Choy Wen said on <a href="https://www.facebook.com/choywon0914/posts/pfbid0uQ9uwTWiLwGgvGwHUZ3AcfhcbnvXnG15iUMJMSKf7rXSXD1hdX2TqwLjFsvMahBCl">Facebook</a> that she will get to the bottom of this and told the members of the public not to trust the videos posted online as she has not seen her in person nor heard from her yet.
Hopefully, authorities will be able to track her down soon enough. A reminder that human trafficking is not a joke and despite all efforts, it&rsquo;s still difficult for authorities to locate the hundreds if not thousands of others who have also gone missing over the years.

In Malaysia, amidst the various aspects of healthcare available, there is one crucial aspect that often goes overlooked by many Malaysians: Dental Care.
Dental care encompasses oral hygiene practices that involve taking care of our teeth. Neglecting proper dental care can lead to a multitude of issues, including cavities, gum diseases, and the universally undesirable problem of bad breath.

Unfortunately, dental care is rather expensive in Malaysia as sometimes a typical cavity filling costs between RM100-RM150 and scaling between RM150-RM200. Perhaps this is the reason why many Malaysians don&rsquo;t take their dental care seriously, but what if we told you that you can actually get it for cheap?
Scaling For Only RM3!
No, you&rsquo;re not reading this wrongly as dental care can actually be very affordable in Malaysia! Recently, Twitter user Alena <a href="https://twitter.com/alenawhz/status/1666273906184056833">@alenawhz</a> shared that dental care in Malaysia is in fact reasonable as she scheduled a dental appointment for a total of RM3. All you need to do is to make an appointment via the MySejahtera app!

Before we get into how you can do this, a reminder that the MySejahtera App is now an app used by the Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia as a universal healthcare app where Malaysians can track their health records from health reports, lab test reports and even vaccinations.&nbsp;
How To Make A Booking?

When you open up MySejahtera, you&rsquo;ll see a set of options and you can make an appointment by tapping the appointment icon. From there, scroll down and tap on the dental check-up. Following that, you&rsquo;ll need to input your postcode and the app will list the available appointments and the nearest dates.

If you&rsquo;re looking to get a specific time slot, Alena says that the best time to book appointments is at 12am or early morning as it seems that they refresh their appointment times during those hours. After securing your appointment, it&rsquo;s also best for you to show up 30 minutes earlier as you&rsquo;ll be prompted to check in using MySejahtera, obtain your queue number and get your blood pressure checked for only RM1.
After about 15 minutes, Alena was called to meet the dentist. She had a talk with her doctor addressing her concerns and stating which treatment she would like to get. She opted to have a general check-up and scaling. The highlight of the treatment was that it was all done within 10 minutes and she was in and out of the clinic within 30 minutes.
One thing she noted is that the doctor said she was lucky as there weren&rsquo;t a lot of patients that morning and the waiting and treatment time could have taken longer if there were a lot of people at the clinic that day.

As the tweet gained over 8.2K Retweets and 8.9K likes on Twitter, many netizens had thanked Alena for sharing her experience and it looks like many netizens have also wanted to get their appointment booked for their check-up.

Some netizens commented that most clinics do not update the schedule and some clinics will prompt you to physically walk in for an appointment. Others also commented that if you can&rsquo;t find an appointment after imputing a postcode, you can also try searching by city name or state.

Dental Care Too Expensive? Get Your Teeth Scaled For Only RM3 Via MySejahtera!

For those who love binge-watching a series, you may know that lately, Disney+ has been on a roll as they have been releasing many different Star Wars series and, in all honesty, they have been way better than the movies they produced, more specifically Episode 7 till 9 of the Skywalker Saga.
This time around, Disney+ has set a primer date for the highly anticipated series, Star Wars Ahsoka as it will be releasing this August 23.

The upcoming series serves as a spin-off from The Mandalorian series. If you&rsquo;re new to the Star Wars franchise, the show takes place along the same timeline as The Mandalorian and as a pseudo-sequel to Star Wars: Rebels. Unlike the many characters we&rsquo;ve seen in the previous Star Wars series, Ahsoka is a character that goes way back to the prequels as she first appeared in Star Wars: Clone Wars cartoon before her story was continued in Star Wars: Rebels.

Her character was one of the most talked about characters out there as in previous iterations of the shows, we only saw an animated version of her until she appeared in Season 2 of The Mandalorian and the first season of The Book of Boba Fett.
Who Are The New Characters?
Now, since Ahsoka isn&rsquo;t a character like Din Djarin or Boba Fett who&rsquo;s covered in armour almost the majority of the time, she&rsquo;s one of the more unique characters in the franchise. In fact, Ahsoka will feature many characters who will be appearing in the live-action for the first time.

Ahsoka Tano will be played by Rosario Dawson who started in Marvel&rsquo;s Daredevil (2015-2017). Aside form that, the series will also be featuring stars such as Natashia Lui Bordizzo who plays Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, and Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger.&nbsp;

This time around, we&rsquo;ll also be seeing the debut of the franchise&rsquo;s notorious villain Grand Admiral Thrawn who is played by Lars Mikkelsen.
Do You Need To Watch Other Series To Understand Ahsoka?

Back during the Star Wars Celebration, executive producers Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau talked a bit about the series. Fans wondered if they needed to watch The Mandalorian Season 3 before heading into Ahsoka but Filoni revealed that fans can watch and enjoy them on their own. In fact, fans wouldn&rsquo;t even need to turn back to the old Clone Wars cartoon to understand her character.
Since the latest trailer only revealed the release date, you can check out their longer trailer which was released 2 months ago alongside more extras that we can expect this August 23.

Is The Arrival Of The Series Bad For Other Disney+ Series?

For those who may not know, Disney typically releases an episode every Wednesday on their platform as seen from other Star Wars series in the past. As the first episode is set to air on August 23, we will see a clash in the premier of another series.
Aksoka is set to have 8 episodes and the penultimate episode of Season 1 is set to arrive on 4 October, two days before the premiere of Loki Season 2 and the finale will be airing between the first and second episodes of Loki on October 11.
Though this does not mean much to some who just enjoy watching a good series as they unwind from their busy day, this could be an issue for some as there&rsquo;s a gap between the end of the Marvel series Secret Invasion (premiering in June) and the premier of Ahsoka.
We all know the pain of juggling different shows at once&hellip;
But despite the clash in episode releases, we are sure fans wouldn&rsquo;t mind binging extra shows in between and that Ahsoka will certainly be fun to watch. Hopefully, it can give us the experience that Andor gave us if not better.
