Great news everyone! More initiatives are now being rolled out to alleviate our burdens, especially when it comes to renewing personal documents such as identification cards and driver's licenses.
This being said, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) will now allow the renewal of driving licences for a period of up to 10 years.&nbsp;

Currently, the permitted validity is only up to five years.
During a press conference on the 3rd May, Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the public could start applying for the 10-year driving licence renewals beginning Monday, 8 May, at any JPJ office and counter across the country.
"The public is now allowed to renew their driving licence yearly, or up to 10 years," he said in Putrajaya.
The maximum 10-year validity renewal will also come at a special fee of RM270. According to BFM News, this would mean the 10-year driving licence renewal would cost the equivalent of a nine-year renewal.
However, drivers can still choose to renew their licence for any amount of years, between one and 10.

Loke said those seeking to apply for the 10-year renewal must be Malaysians, and that their existing licence would expire in a year.
"This initiative is not eligible for foreigners as well as long-term pass holders. Those interested in renewing their driving licence for up to 10 years should make sure their remaining licence validity is less than a year," he added.
At the same press conference, Loke also announced that Malaysians whose driving licences expired from 1st Jan 2018 onwards after they were unable to return home during the Covid-19 pandemic may renew them without having to resit their driving tests.
He added that such an initiative is only valid until Dec 31 this year.
On other matters, he said his ministry has received a detailed plan from the Malaysia Airport Holdings Bhd (MAHB) on the effort to carry out regeneration works on the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (LTSAAS) in Subang near here.
"The ministry, right now, is preparing the Cabinet paper. And we will table it in the Cabinet within the next few weeks," he said.

&ldquo;This move aligns with our efforts to modernise public transport and push towards a fully digital and cashless society,&rdquo; said Loke during the launch. &ldquo;A world-class public transport system is not just about having trains and buses; it&rsquo;s also about seamless digital infrastructure.&rdquo;
How It Works: My50 on Your Phone

The friend had visited the unit after failing to get in touch with the victim and promptly alerted the authorities. Emergency services later confirmed that the student had died at the scene, with police quickly launching a murder investigation.
Alone During Semester Break

According to early investigations, the victim had been living in a shared condominium unit with five housemates. Sources revealed that she was well-liked and academically driven, and there had been no prior reports of disputes or personal issues that might have led to the violent incident.
No Signs of Forced Entry or Sexual Assault

The court ruled that the prosecution had failed to prove the core elements of the offences, particularly the intent required for criminal breach of trust (CBT), misappropriation, and money laundering. According to the judgment, the failure to properly direct the trial and the misinterpretation of legal standards warranted full appellate intervention.

Syed Saddiq, 32, had been convicted in 2023 on four charges:
