For many Sci-fi fans out there, there has always been a debate about which movie is better, Star Wars or Star Trek. But with Star Wars being purchased by Disney, many fans had mixed reviews over the last couple of releases.
The movies were very questionable and did not reflect how Star Wars was meant to be but if there&rsquo;s one thing that did not disappoint it&rsquo;s the series. Over the recent years, we&rsquo;ve seen series such as The Mandalorian, Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi and arguably the most well-done series, Andor.
Get Ready For Andor Season 2

Since the release of Season 1, the series staring Diego Luna as Cassain Andor was thrilling and left many fans at the edge if their seats when watching it. Waiting for an episode to come out weekly felt like forever and the critically acclaimed series will now be returning with a second and final season.
As it&rsquo;s now in production, Andor season 2 is said to become more intense as the storyline socially resonates about building a rebellion from the ground up. The series creator and showrunner Tony Gilroy stated that the final three episodes of Andor will tell viewers the story of the final three days leading up to the opening scene of Cassian Andor in Rogue One where he met an Imperial informant about the rumours of a superweapon being created by the Empire.
New Season, New Risks

Rewinding back to Andor Season 1, the series had initially focused on a year in the life of Cassian Andor which took place 5 years prior to the events of Rogue One. The final season will have 12 episodes set across a timespan of 4 years with every three episodes focusing on a year during Cassian&rsquo;s life as a rebel leader.
Initially, it was expected that Andor were to have a total of 5 seasons but Gilroy revised the plan to opt for a more modest length as he wanted to avoid a lengthy series production. During the Star Wars Celebration which took place in London, it teased the growing war between both the Empire and Rebellion showing scenes that are more intense as the season comes to a close.
Why Was Andor So Good?
If you were to ask many Star Wars fans, many would agree that Andor is arguably better than all the other Star Wars movies and series out there and if you haven&rsquo;t actually watched it, you probably should.
1) It Is Visually Stunning

Unlike most of the other Star Wars series, many of the shows looked a little off on the visual end of things such as Obi-Wan Kenobi. What sets Andor apart was a thing called Volume, a type of filmmaking technology which can project any background behind actors during filming.

Though groundbreaking, Andor on the other hand opted for real locations which resulted in a more natural and tangible feel. The production was able to allocate resources to make CGI moments extra special, resulting in stunning visuals such as Cassian and his crew flying through the Eye of Aldhani in episode 6.
2) Taking Things Slow

Andor took a different approach compared to other series, which often rushed through their storylines to reach a grand finale. Instead, Andor's deliberate pacing and attention to detail in each of its 12 episodes laid the foundation for a more organic and satisfying narrative.
The series' focus on patient storytelling is evident from the very first episode, where the groundwork for the story is carefully laid. Andor episode 5 embodies this approach more than any other, as it patiently builds towards the highly-anticipated heist. By taking the time to ensure that every element of the story is meaningful and contributes to the overall narrative, the series stands out from others that suffer from hasty endings.
3) Not Relying On Nostalgia

The main issue of Star Wars in the Disney Era is that they have been overly reliant on nostalgia as they have been trying hard to please the fans by throwing some throwback stories. The recent movies which ended the tale of the Skywalker Saga had viewers only needing to look at The Book of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian which too did not provide much to strengthen the movies.
Thanks to the large sets of Andor and how wide of a story it has, it&rsquo;s given fans a whole new world to explore with better quality cameos without needing to mention anything about the Jedi or Sith which revolved around the whole Star Wars movies.
If you&rsquo;re planning to watch Andor anytime soon, don&rsquo;t worry as you won&rsquo;t need to rewatch any of the past Star Wars franchises to have an enjoyable time. Do note though, there are a few easter eggs in the movies about Emperor Palpatine in Andor but there&rsquo;s nothing to worry about as none of these easter eggs will impact the viewing experience.
Season 2 will be released on August 2024 so that will give you plenty of time to rewatch all the Star Wars films and understand the whole story behind the franchise.

You better start now as you&rsquo;ll have a lot of catching up to do.
Though it&rsquo;s a bit sad that Andor will only get 2 seasons, many such as I think that the series does deserve a couple of extra seasons and give fans the full experience and stories outside of the Skywalker Saga and behind the Jedi and Sith stories. But well, it is what it is and I just hope Ahsoka which is releasing this August 2023 won&rsquo;t flop like the movies.

The two-term Setiawangsa MP confirmed he submitted his resignation letter to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and will officially vacate his ministerial post on 4 July. He will be on leave from 29 May until the day before his departure.
In a statement, Nik Nazmi acknowledged that his role as PKR vice-president was a key factor in his Cabinet appointment. With that mandate now lost, he said it was appropriate for him to make way. He also failed to defend his position as Setiawangsa PKR chief during the party&rsquo;s divisional elections last month.

Kopi was a familiar figure in the Besut district, known to many residents and animal lovers for her calm and affectionate demeanour. Her popularity soared in March 2024, after a video went viral on social media showing her gently playing with a stray kitten. The video, uploaded by one of her feeders, Abby Razali, garnered widespread attention and led to a wave of online affection.
But that public goodwill turned into collective outrage when news broke that Kopi had been shot dead during a stray dog culling operation carried out by the Besut District Council. The shooting occurred in the early hours of 6 October 2024, reportedly around 1.30am.
According to Dr Kartini Farah Abdul Rahim, one of the plaintiffs, several residents were awakened by the sound of gunshots. Upon investigating, they observed three council officers driving around in a pick-up truck. Shortly after, Kopi was found dead from gunshot wounds. Her death, initially revealed via a post on the &ldquo;My Forever Doggo&rdquo; Instagram account, prompted widespread condemnation and demands for accountability.
Legal Grounds: Alleged Breach of Animal Welfare Law

The plaintiffs are therefore seeking a declaration from the court that the use of firearms in this case was not legally justified, and that the authorities acted beyond the bounds of the law.
Challenging Local By-Laws
Beyond the immediate question of Kopi&rsquo;s death, the case also seeks to address a broader legal conflict between federal and local regulations. The activists are challenging the legality of the Besut District Council&rsquo;s Dog Licensing By-Laws 1990, specifically Sections 9(1) and 9(2), which empower council officers to shoot licensed or unlicensed dogs if no owner can be located.
The plaintiffs argue that these by-laws are incompatible with the stricter protections afforded by the Animal Welfare Act, a federal law that supersedes local legislation. They assert that allowing council officers to indiscriminately kill strays undermines national legal standards and sets a dangerous precedent.

After years of speculation, teasing, and public demand, WhatsApp has officially launched a native app for the iPad. Malaysia is once again celebrating a landmark moment in badminton history as national shuttlers Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin Rumsani officially become the world's top-ranked men&rsquo;s doubles pair, according to the latest Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings released on 27 May 2025. This milestone marks the first time a Malaysian men's doubles duo has ascended to the coveted No.1 position in nearly a decade.
A Return to the Summit After Almost a Decade
Goh and Nur, known affectionately by fans as FeiDin, now sit atop the global rankings with 91,090 points, surpassing Denmark&rsquo;s Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen, who dropped to second place after failing to defend their title at the recently concluded Malaysia Masters. The Danes were dethroned following their semi-final loss to fellow Malaysians Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik.

Although Goh and Nur themselves bowed out in the quarter-finals of the same tournament after losing to another Malaysian pair, Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun, their consistent performances over the past year were enough to push them into the top spot. Their victory at the India Open in January 2025 was a pivotal moment, bolstering their climb after strong showings in 2024, which included titles at the Japan Open, China Open, and Arctic Open, as well as runner-up finishes at the BWF World Tour Finals and the Asian Championships.
This achievement makes Goh and Nur the first Malaysian men's doubles team to reach the world No.1 ranking since Goh V Shem and Tan Wee Kiong in March 2016. They also join a legendary group of Malaysian shuttlers who once held the same honour, including the Sidek brothers (Razif and Jalani), Cheah Soon Kit-Yap Kim Hock, and Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong.
Notably, this also marks the first time any Malaysian badminton player has reached world No.1 since singles icon Lee Chong Wei last held the spot in June 2017.

&ldquo;Congratulations to them &ndash; this is a fantastic achievement. But they must not get complacent. When you&rsquo;re number one, everyone is watching and targeting you. The pressure will be immense,&rdquo; he said.
Razif emphasised that without consistent performance and proper preparation, the pair risks losing their hard-earned position. &ldquo;Being on top must be motivation, not a destination. They must continue to train hard and think like champions if they are to remain at the peak,&rdquo; he added.
Spotlight on the Singapore Open

The Malaysians must reach at least the final to maintain their position. Should the Danish pair win the tournament and Goh-Nur exit early, the No.1 ranking could be lost as quickly as it was earned.
That said, the Danes have semi-final points from last year&rsquo;s Singapore Open to defend, while Goh and Nur could widen their lead by as much as 4,000 points if they reach the last four and Astrup-Rasmussen fall short in the quarters.
