Recently, public transportation woes have dominated discussions, with limited solutions available to both concerned citizens and transport operators who are actively working on upgrading and enhancing their services.
Among these challenges, the most prominent one currently involves the RapidKL LRT system, which has been plagued by recurrent breakdowns, significantly disrupting the daily routines of Malaysians, particularly during peak morning and evening hours.

According to the Transport Minister, the current <a href="https://myc.my/articles/2245/ampang-lrt-line-to-face-further-disruptions-till-september-due-to-repairs-and-safety-issues">Ampang LRT line is facing further disruptions</a> till September (this month) as they address the repairs and safety issues but by the looks of it, there have still been frequent issues as many are still disappointed at their service.
But it looks like that&rsquo;s not the only thing that netizens are complaining about.
RapidKL Introduces Ladies Only Coach

In response to recent harassment incidents on public transport, RapidKL has introduced a dedicated women-only coach along the Kajang MRT line. Transport Minister Anthony Loke has endorsed this initiative, aimed at offering female passengers a secure and comfortable commuting environment, particularly during peak hours.
The implementation of the women-only coach is currently in progress, undergoing operational testing in phases, and it is scheduled for completion by September 17th, as indicated in the notice issued by RapidKL. To provide a preview of the new service, pink-coloured stickers have been affixed to the floor and doors leading to the women-only MRT coach. Initially, this service is exclusively available on the Kajang MRT line during the trial period.

While the introduction of women-only coaches is a significant development to celebrate, a wave of concern has swept across social media as netizens express their dissatisfaction with RapidKL's approach. The pressing issue of train frequencies during peak hours has long been a source of frustration for commuters, leading to overcrowded trains. Both men and women have voiced their grievances online, emphasizing the urgent need for RapidKL to prioritize the resolution of these persistent frequency issues before embarking on any further enhancements to the train line.

While a portion of the comments may have appeared exaggerated, both male and female netizens echoed the importance of addressing the train frequency issue. Regrettably, as of the latest update, RapidKL has yet to respond to the feedback concerning train frequency. As a result, we can only anticipate the outcome of their trial data to determine the effectiveness of this recent initiative.
We do agree that the introduction of the coach is a good move and men should not be hating on it as women&rsquo;s safety should also be prioritised. However, perhaps one of the better moves was to have the coach at one end of the train instead of the middle since crowds can be controlled better.
