Social media has been abuzz with fervour following a dramatic altercation that unfolded outside the Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) on November 2nd. In this incident, a delivery rider found himself pinned to the ground in a chokehold, sparking outrage among netizens who are clamouring for justice on behalf of the rider simply trying to fulfil his duty.
What Happened During The Incident?
On November 2, the incident occurred when the security guard prevented the rider from parking his motorcycle in front of the building and denied him entry. The rider, however, claimed that the customer had instructed him to enter the building, leading to a heated exchange of words between the guard and the rider. The guard then called another security guard for assistance.

In a viral video, a security guard in a maroon blazer was seen restraining the rider by pressing his arm against the rider's neck. A woman, believed to be the customer, was recording the video and kept telling the man to let the rider go. She also told him not to break the rider&rsquo;s arms.
The guard was hesitant to let the rider go, fearing that the rider might confront another foreign security guard. Eventually, another man intervened and convinced the guard to release the rider. As the man attended to the rider, the woman in the video reprimanded the guard for his aggressive behaviour.

Later on November 3 around 2:34 pm, a police report was made on the incident and the police officially made a statement indicating the case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code, and five witnesses have been summoned to assist in the investigation.

Law Firm Offers Victim Legal Service
Shortly after the incident went viral, local law firm Harizam Wan &amp; Aishah Mubarak (HWAM) took to social media requesting the members of the public to assist them in reaching out to the rider as they wanted to offer legal services to the man.

HWAM representative Mohamad Hakim said that they met with the rider yesterday (5 November) and offered him legal assistance if he felt that the viral video had affected his dignity.
&ldquo;If the rider made a mistake, the man in the blazer should not have reacted violently. It cannot be condoned because there are laws in this country,&rdquo; said Hakim.
Hakim expressed his disappointment upon hearing the remarks made by the individual in the maroon blazer, who allegedly stated in the video that Sabahan people are not from the region. He asserted that this comment had incited anger among some Sabahans who watched the video.
According to Mstar, the person in the blazer took precautionary measures by filing a police report for his safety once the video gained widespread attention. He contended that the online video did not present an accurate depiction of the events that occurred that day. Furthermore, he asserted that the issue had been resolved between the delivery rider and the security guard. 
This incident serves as a poignant reminder that violence is never the answer, and it underscores the importance of handling such situations with professionalism and restraint.
