A 2022 PayNet study revealed that 78% of Malaysians prefer cash payments, with 48% using cash daily&mdash;a figure that rises to nearly two-thirds in non-urban areas. A more recent 2024 Ipsos report showed that 45% of Malaysians still rely exclusively on cash for transactions.
Recognising this demand, Seven Bank aims to address gaps in ATM density and banking services in underserved areas. Reachful Malaysia&rsquo;s CEO, Jin Sudo, highlighted the country&rsquo;s growing population, GDP, and persistent cash circulation as key factors driving the expansion.
Seven Bank president Masaaki Matsuhashi shared the vision of making financial services more accessible:
&ldquo;By collaborating with our partner companies to deploy ATM services in 7-Eleven stores in Malaysia, we hope to enrich the lives of the Malaysian people and contribute to further social development and economic growth.&rdquo;
Enhancing Convenience Through CRMs
