Premium cinema formats such as IMAX and Dolby Cinema also played a major role in boosting ticket sales, accounting for nearly half of all global revenue during opening weekend.
Analysts believe the film&rsquo;s long-term performance over the coming weeks will determine whether it can truly stabilise the Star Wars brand theatrically after years of uncertainty.

A devastating road accident in Johor has claimed five lives, including four members of the same family, in what police believe may have been caused by reckless driving involving two brothers behind the wheel of luxury vehicles.
The tragedy, which occurred along Jalan Renggam&ndash;Simpang Renggam in Kluang on 1 June, has shocked Malaysians nationwide and reignited concerns about dangerous driving on public roads.
Five-Vehicle Collision Turns Fatal

According to Kluang district police chief ACP Bahrin Mohd Noh, initial investigations found that a 22-year-old man driving the BMW and his 19-year-old younger brother, who was driving the Mercedes-Benz A250, were allegedly travelling at high speed and driving recklessly.
Police believe the BMW lost control while travelling from Kluang towards Simpang Renggam, veered into the opposite lane and collided with four oncoming vehicles before plunging into a ravine.
The impact of the collision was catastrophic.

The victims travelling in the Toyota Vios suffered the worst consequences of the crash.
They were identified as:

<li>His wife, Nor Azlina Abd Latif, 33</li>
<li>Nor Azlina's mother, Semek Mat Soh, 73</li>
<li>Mohd Aiman's 10-year-old niece, Nur Airish Syifa Sidek</li>
</ul>
All four were pronounced dead at the scene after sustaining severe head and body injuries.
Emergency responders who arrived at the location found several victims trapped inside the badly damaged vehicle. In one particularly horrifying detail, firefighters revealed that the elderly woman had been thrown out of the Toyota Vios and landed on top of another vehicle involved in the collision.
The 22-year-old BMW driver later died while being transported to hospital, bringing the total death toll to five.
Several Others Injured

A number of other road users were also injured in the crash.
The 43-year-old driver of a Perodua Alza suffered leg injuries, while two child passengers aged 11 and seven sustained head injuries and were admitted for treatment.
Meanwhile, the 22-year-old Proton Wira driver suffered injuries to his mouth.
The driver of the second Mercedes-Benz, a 57-year-old woman, sustained minor chest and facial injuries, while her two passengers escaped unharmed.
All injured victims were taken to Hospital Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom in Kluang for treatment.
Teen Driver Arrested As Police Continue Investigation

Following the crash, police arrested the 19-year-old Mercedes-Benz driver to assist with investigations.
His vehicle has been seized, while a urine screening test returned negative for prohibited substances.
The teenager was later remanded for two days to facilitate investigations under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which covers reckless and dangerous driving.
Authorities are also investigating the wider case under Section 41(1) of the same Act, relating to causing death through reckless or dangerous driving.
Dashcam footage that has since circulated online allegedly shows both luxury vehicles travelling at high speed moments before the fatal collision.
Final Goodbye To A Beloved Daughter

As investigations continue, heartbreaking stories from the victims' families have emerged.
One of the most emotional accounts came from Nurul Ain Mohd Rashid, the mother of 10-year-old victim Nur Airish Syifa. Speaking after her daughter's burial, she recalled their final moments together before the young girl left for Johor.
According to Nurul Ain, Airish hugged and kissed her several times before leaving and smiled as she said, "Goodbye Umi."
Those would become the last words she ever heard from her daughter.
The grieving mother also revealed that Airish had taken five of her shirts on the trip because they wore the same size. Tragically, the child was wearing one of those shirts when the accident occurred.
Nurul Ain shared that Airish had recently been excited about becoming an older sister after learning that her mother was five months pregnant.
"When she found out I was pregnant, she told me not to buy any baby clothes yet because she wanted to choose them herself," she said.
Family Had Already Suffered A Recent Loss
The tragedy has been made even more painful by the fact that Mohd Aiman's family had recently experienced another bereavement.
According to relatives, Mohd Aiman's father had passed away from intestinal cancer just two weeks earlier. Family members described the latest loss as almost impossible to comprehend, especially after having gathered together recently for a family celebration in Melaka before the fatal journey home.
Anthony Loke Condemns Reckless Driving

Transport Minister Anthony Loke has strongly condemned the alleged reckless driving that led to the tragedy.
Describing the incident as entirely avoidable, Loke urged police to expedite investigations and ensure appropriate legal action is taken.
"This kind of driving is very irresponsible and completely unacceptable," he said.
He also reminded motorists that possessing a driving licence does not grant anyone the right to endanger the lives of others on the road.
"A driving licence is not permission to drive as you please to the point of causing disaster to innocent people," he added.

The Steam Deck Is Basically A Portable Gaming PC

Steam Deck Prices Skyrocket Overseas

The 512GB OLED model reportedly jumped from US$549 (around RM2,180) to US$789 (around RM3,134), while the 1TB OLED version increased from US$649 (around RM2,578) to a staggering US$949 (around RM3,769).
That means some buyers are now paying nearly RM1,200 more for the exact same device.
Valve explained that the Steam Deck itself has not changed, saying the price increases were caused by rising component costs, memory shortages and wider global logistical issues affecting the tech industry.
The growing demand for hardware from AI companies and data centres has also reportedly contributed to the ongoing shortages involving RAM and NAND storage components.
Even With Higher Prices, The Steam Deck Keeps Selling Out

Surprisingly, the massive price hikes have not slowed demand at all.

Valve&rsquo;s Steam store now warns that availability may fluctuate due to memory and storage shortages, with some countries seeing limited stock windows. While North America quickly ran out of units, the Steam Deck remains available in selected regions including parts of Europe, Australia and Asia through Valve&rsquo;s partner distributors.
The continued demand shows just how strong the handheld gaming market has become, especially among gamers looking for a more flexible way to enjoy PC gaming without needing a full desktop setup.
What Are The Alternatives To The Steam Deck?

Malaysians are no strangers to delays, technical faults, and sudden service interruptions involving the Klang Valley&rsquo;s public rail system.
However, commuters were left stunned on Thursday morning after an actual train derailment occurred near the Chan Sow Lin LRT Station, causing major disruptions along the Ampang and Sri Petaling LRT lines during rush hour.
The incident quickly sparked concern online, with many commuters questioning the reliability and safety of the country&rsquo;s rail infrastructure after videos and photos of passengers walking along the tracks began circulating across social media.
Train Derailed During Track Switch Operation

According to Rapid KL, the incident happened when an Ampang/Sri Petaling Line train derailed while passing through a track switch near Chan Sow Lin station.
The derailment reportedly caused the train to become immobilised, leading to widespread delays across several stations on both lines.
Rapid KL confirmed that 25 passengers were on board the train at the time of the incident.
Fortunately, all passengers were safely evacuated according to standard operating procedures and no injuries were reported.
The rail operator later confirmed that the photos and videos circulating online were genuine and showed commuters being guided along the tracks during the evacuation process.
Initial reports suggested the derailment may have been linked to a track switch failure, although investigations are still ongoing.
Thousands Of Commuters Left Stranded During Peak Hours

The derailment caused chaos for thousands of commuters travelling to work during the busy morning period.
Many passengers reported severe delays, overcrowded platforms, and confusion as train services were interrupted across multiple stations. One commuter said what was normally a routine journey ended up taking an additional 45 minutes due to repeated train changes and overcrowding.
Another passenger described the incident as particularly alarming because commuters are used to delays &mdash; but not actual derailments.
Some commuters also said they may consider switching to e-hailing services or working from home temporarily if disruptions continue over the coming days.
Alternative Train Routes And Shuttle Buses Activated

Following the disruption, Rapid KL activated several alternative train arrangements and free shuttle bus services to reduce the impact on commuters.

Free shuttle buses were also deployed between stations including Hang Tuah, Chan Sow Lin, Maluri, Pandan Jaya, and Cheras.
Passengers heading towards the city centre were advised to switch to the Putrajaya Line through Sungai Besi station.
Rapid KL said repair and recovery works are currently ongoing while technical teams continue investigating the cause of the derailment.
Anthony Loke Orders Immediate Investigation

Following the incident, Transport Minister Anthony Loke ordered the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) to immediately launch a full investigation into the derailment.
Loke stressed that the incident was far more serious than an ordinary service disruption, noting that any derailment carries significant safety risks for both passengers and railway staff.
He confirmed that APAD has already opened an investigation paper while a special task force has been established to determine the root cause of the incident.
According to the minister, the findings will be submitted to the Cabinet as soon as possible before being released publicly.

The minister added that severe disciplinary action &mdash; including dismissals &mdash; should be taken against any individuals found negligent in relation to the incident.
According to him, accountability must apply at every level of management in order to restore public confidence in Malaysia&rsquo;s rail system.
APAD Warns Of Enforcement Action If Negligence Is Found

Meanwhile, APAD confirmed that it has conducted multiple inspections at the derailment site together with officials from the Ministry of Transport.

Authorities warned that enforcement action could be taken under the Land Public Transport Act 2010 if investigations uncover negligence, non-compliance, or failures involving rail safety responsibilities.
The incident has once again reignited public frustration over the consistency and reliability of Malaysia&rsquo;s urban rail services, especially after several recent disruptions involving the LRT network.
