Everyone must of seen the sanitizer gun that&rsquo;s been going around social media and you probably may of said to yourself, &ldquo;Hey, I should get that for my home/business, it would make everything easier&rdquo;.

Well, true by having a device like this it is easy but there are some things you&rsquo;ll need to aware of before using it.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) has cautioned the public not to use the nano mist sanitizing spray gun on people&rsquo;s bodies.

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah had noticed that there is a rise of the public using the mist spray gun to sanitize individuals all around. He had raised the concern of the effectiveness and safety of the device. More importantly would be the concern towards the disinfectant solution which is sold with the device.

"MOH would like to emphasise that the disinfecting solution is for the purposes of&nbsp;surface disinfection&nbsp;and&nbsp;not meant to be used directly on humans," he said.
"Contact with some of this solution may cause irritation to the eyes, skin, respiratory, and gastrointestinal systems."
Concerns brought up by various medical and consumer groups
The Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) had also recently warned the public on the rangers of unregistered products as the devices was widely sold online. Dr Koh Kar Chia who is the president of MMA stated that the devices are not meant to be sprayed on humans upon entry of a place. It is to note that if one were to be positive with Covid-19, they&rsquo;ll carry the virus in their nose and throats. By sanitizing someone&rsquo;s clothes or skin, it won&rsquo;t skill of the virus and it may cause irritation to them. The only reason to sanitize the clothes or skin of a person is only if they are unhygienic by blowing their nose or coughing into their shirts.
"Adopting standard operating procedures (SOPs) with&nbsp;the use of&nbsp;face mask and social distancing is more effective&nbsp;than spraying the whole body with disinfectant spray,"&nbsp;he said.

Since the device is an aerolised disinfectant, there is potential for it to cause irritation to one&rsquo;s eyes, skin or even airways.
Consumers Association of Penang (CAP) said many sellers do not declare the details such as ingredients, concentrations, manufactures or distributors alongside handling instructions of the sanitization liquid.
Now that you mention it, that&rsquo;s quite true.
"Some even simply tout 'proven active ingredients against viruses listed in the World Health Organization, the National Environment Agency, and the MOH' on their labels," said CAP president Mohideen Abdul Kader in a report by <a href="https://www.thestar.com.my/opinion/letters/2021/09/20/are-nano-spray-gun-sanitising-liquids-safe">The Star</a>.
In regards of the chemicals being used in the liquid, some of it have been approve for usage in Malaysia but that is subjected to the concentration and exposure of the disinfectant.
To be on the safe side, we should use proper sanitization methods especially with the usual hand sanitizers or disinfectant alcohol. We wouldn&rsquo;t want to get any complications by doing this.
