This medical news might trigger some communities out there, but trust me and read this through.
First of all, pig heart? For real?
The first person to receive a heart transplant from a genetically modified pig is recovering well following the treatment, which took place last week in Baltimore, Maryland.
Transplant surgeons believe that the advancement will allow them to provide more humans with animal organs, but various ethical and technological challenges may come to mingle along the journey.
"This was a breakthrough surgery and brings us one step closer to solving the organ shortage crisis. There are simply not enough donor human hearts available to meet the long list of potential recipients," Dr. Bartley Griffith, who surgically transplanted the pig heart into the patient, said in a statement.
&ldquo;We are proceeding cautiously, but we are also optimistic that this first-in-the-world surgery will provide an important new option for patients in the future,&rdquo; Griffith added.
Why Did You Agree For A Pig&rsquo;s Heart Inside Your Chest?
It was a life and death option for 57-year-old David Bennett.
&ldquo;It was either die or do this transplant. I want to live. I know it&rsquo;s a shot in the dark, but it&rsquo;s my last choice,&rdquo; Bennett said a day before his surgery, according to a statement released by the university.
Bennett had been on cardiac support for almost two months and couldn&rsquo;t receive a mechanical heart pump because of an irregular heartbeat.
Neither could he receive a human transplant, because he had a history of not complying with doctors&rsquo; treatment instructions. Given that he otherwise faced certain death, the researchers got permission from the FDA to give Bennett a pig heart.
The Procedure
Of course, it was nothing like, "Hey, how about a surgery with a pig's heart?" and Bennett like, "Yeah dude, why not."

The institution gained emergency approval from the US Food and Drug Administration on New Year's Eve to proceed with the experimental procedure under its compassionate use programme.
According to Al Jazeera news, "The FDA used our data and data on the experimental pig to authorise the transplant in an end-stage heart disease patient who had no other treatment options," said Dr. Muhammad Mohiuddin, who heads the University's programme on xenotransplantation &ndash; transplanting animal organs into humans.
There are about 110,000 Americans who are currently on the waiting list for an organ transplant, and more than 6,000 patients lose their life every year before getting one, as mentioned by <a href="https://www.organdonor.gov/">organdonor.gov</a>.
Revivicor, a regenerative medicine company located in Virginia, equipped Bennett with his genetically engineered pig heart. The transplant team extracted the pig's heart the morning of the surgery and placed it in a special device to keep it functioning until the actual&nbsp;surgery for Bennett.
In the heart implanted in Bennett, three genes previously linked with organ rejection were &ldquo;knocked out&rdquo; of the donor pig, and six human genes linked with immune acceptance were inserted into the pig genome.
To avoid unnecessary development of the pig heart tissue, researchers also removed a pig gene.
The research was partially financed by a $15.7 million research grant to test Revivicor's genetically modified pig hearts in baboon studies.
Bennett was given an experimental anti-rejection medication concerning the genetic alterations to the pig heart.

Yea, it can be pretty difficult to follow as there&rsquo;s so many hearings, but many people have been siding Johnny Depp on the trails so far and we won&rsquo;t be surprised if he wins.

Recently, Amber brought up Kate Moss&rsquo;s name as she claims she shared an alleged altercation in 2015.

After she brought up her name, many people knew instantly that it&rsquo;s a matter of time before Kate will need to testify for Johnny and surprise, surprise, she agreed to appear in court via video call.
During the testimony, Amber claimed that Johnny and her sister had a fight between one another, and that Kate&rsquo;s name was brought up as Amber said the altercation reminded her of a rumoured incident between the actor and the model.
If you haven&rsquo;t already knew, Kate and Johnny were former lovers for 4 years from 1994 &ndash; 1998. Regardless of their split, she still showed up to the court as a witness to testify for her ex-boyfriend.

Kate was asked a series of questions which related to the alleged incident. One of them being the time the two went to Jamaica and Johnny had allegedly &ldquo;pushed her down the stairs&rdquo;.

Unfortunately for Amber, the alleged rumour was false as Kate testified it.
&ldquo;He never pushed me, kicked me or threw me down any stairs&rdquo; she said.
Kate had been asked by Johnny&rsquo;s legal team if she ever testified in court before and she answered &ldquo;no, I have never&rdquo;. Only when she was questioned on why choosing to testify now, she was stopped by Amber&rsquo;s lawyer as it was beyond what ever that was agreed upon.

Due to the trials, many big brands had dropped Johnny Depp but respects should be given to Christian Dior for standing by his side throughout the whole ordeal.&nbsp;

Transport Minister Datuk Sri Wee Ka Siong had announced that the transit rails will be undergoing a maintenance period which could last up to six months beginning 26 May 2022.
This was due to the numerous breakdowns that had happened along the Kelana Jaya LRT Line which is the busiest rail transit in town.

The maintenance will be categorised in four different levels which involve the repair and overhaul of (MRO) of the 28 sets of 818 series trains which is an important process to extend the life span of trains.
Additionally, the government will be receiving 19 new types of trains in the fourth quarter of 2023 for the Kelana Jaya route. Finally, an upgrade. As this is considered a &ldquo;mid-life&rdquo; refurbishment of the Kelana Jaya LRT Line, it&rsquo;s going to cost around RM800 million to do so.

During this maintenance period, commuters will be expecting to see trains to operate at a slower frequency.
The Kelana Jaya LRT Line trains will now be operating at a 4-minute interval during peak hours instead of the previous 2.5-minute intervals. So far, the off-peak hour is unaffected with the train running at 7-minute intervals like usual.
If you&rsquo;re using the Kajang MRT line, trains will be running at 6-minute interval during peak hours instead of the 4-minute interval.

On a plus side, the LRT and MRT lines will now operate on the off-peak frequency on weekends. This is a step up from the previous schedule where previously the LRT had a 10-minute interval and the MRT had a 12-minute interval.
Well, things could be worse am I right? Thankfully Prasarana Malaysia Bhd is taking things seriously to step up the service and maintenance of the train lines.

Odds of it, normally it&rsquo;s unlikely but in this case, this man here has achieved the unthinkable. Well, its only unthinkable to Malaysians knowing how our member of parliament system works am I right?

Meet Sam Lim, 60, who was born in Muar, Johor and had worked as a dolphin trainer before he moved to Australia in 2002. As most of us may have known from the media, the 2022 Australia election had taken place on 21 May 2022.

Sam is now a member of parliament (MP) of the seat of Tangney in Western Australia. With his new seat, he will be joining fellow Australian Labor Party senator Penny Wong who is Australia&rsquo;s new foreign minister. Fun fact, she too is Malaysian born which shows that the parliament there has an increasingly diverse parliament.
Speaking of diversity, in the nearby Western Australian electoral division of Moore, Ian Goodenough who was born in Singapore had also hung onto his seat under the Liberal Party.
Won against the odds

It was reported that Lim had overturned a 9.5% margin from the 2019 election to defeat Liberal Party MP Ben Morton. Tangney was considered a safe seat for the Liberal Party as they have won the seat in every election since 1984
During his interview, Lim talked about how tough life was for him and his family as he was one of eight children growing up in a poor family.
"We had to struggle for the first 15 years of my life was the family home had a leaky roof, a dirt floor and no running water or electricity. But that 15 years built me up to today. When I had to fight to win this seat, I utilised all that determination that I gained in the first 15 years of my life and I achieved it,&rdquo; said Lim.
Always dreamt of being a police man

As a child, he dreamed of becoming a police officer. Unfortunately, at the time in Malaysia, the pay was low, and he had resorted to becoming a dolphin trainer instead.

In a report by the Sydney Moring Herald, Lim described the job as his best job ever. He loved it as dolphins are genuine and will never hurt you. Even if you were to fall in the water, the dolphin will come to comfort you.
Unfortunately, his dream job had to end as creditors had taken over the safari park he was working at, and he eventually started a small business which showed good success.

Once he&rsquo;s earned enough, he had migrated to Australia with his family and fulfilled his life long dream of becoming a police officer as he joined the Western Australia Police Force.
If you&rsquo;re having trouble, he&rsquo;s the one to look for as he speaks 10 different languages. He&rsquo;s put it to good use during the pandemic as well while working with multicultural communities during the pandemic.
All the hard work paid off as he was also awarded Officer of the Year at the Nine News Police Excellence Awards in December 2020 for his role during the pandemic.
Now the next journey in life awaits him and he hopes that his efforts will allow for the Labor Party to stay there for the next 45 years.
It&rsquo;s always nice to see someone who&rsquo;s Malaysian born to make it up there. Hopefully Lim will bring our name proud down in the land down under!

Apart from that, he was also recently awarded the Honorary Doctorate in Medicine by Nihon University.

The degree was awarded in appreciation of Ismail Sabri&rsquo;s efforts and contributions in the fight against Covid-19 and Nihon University is considered one of the most distinguished and oldest private universities in Japan.
The honorary doctorate was awarded by university president Dr Naoto Kato at the Itabashi campus in Tokyo which is within the compound of the university&rsquo;s hospital.
Dedicated the award to the entire Keluarga Malaysia

"Indeed, the award is a great recognition not only for me but for the entire Keluarga Malaysia who have proven our ability to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic in our own way," he said.
Additionally, he also mentioned that Malaysia is also recognised by several international agencies. Two of them being Bloomberg and Nikkei who dubbed Malaysia the top 5 nations in the world to have succeeded in controlling the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
The efforts of Ismail Sabri had significantly contributed to the building of trust in international medical collaboration and improvement of technology in remote diagnosis and treatment as well as functional training said Kato.

While some congratulate him, a netizen had called him out for receiving a degree that&rsquo;s not recognised by the MQA.

The netizen explained that even a university such as Universiti Malaysia Pahang who are infamous for its black magic kit, is in the QS Top Universities ranking but not Nihon University. For the fun of it, netizens also poked around stating Rosmah&rsquo;s honorary doctorate from Curtin University (ranked 217th in the world) is also recognized by MQA.
The funniest comment in all this would be the irony of Malaysians not recognizing the current government too.

Who knows, maybe the MQA list is not updated, or the University isn&rsquo;t added into the list yet. 
Emphasizing the word yet cause there&rsquo;s a chance it will eventually update to suit and cater our Prime Minister.

PM Ismail Sabri 'Called Out' As MQA Doesn’t Recognise His Awarded Honorary Medical Degree

We all know that when going out, it can be troublesome to take care kids as they tend to run around and have fun. Sometimes, we fear kids causing an unwanted scene when we are out as well which tend to be an issue for some parents.
Unfortunately for this father, his kid had caused a scene which cost him to fork out HK$33,600 (~RM18,778 ) as his son accidentally toppled over a life-sized (1.8M tall) golden Teletubby.

Images of the family went viral all-over social media as on lookers just saw the parents and the two boys standing around the shattered and decapitated remains of the statue. In fact, even a video of the moment had circulated Facebook which sparked a debate whether the family should have been made to pay for the damage caused.&nbsp;

The father, Cheng, had initially stepped out of the store to make a phone call and he had suddenly heard a loud bang. He turned around to seeing his son motionless and staring down on the ground looking at a broken figure.

The KKPlus staff had then approached Cheng stating that his son had kicked over the statue which resulted him in paying for the golden Teletubby. The statue retails at HK$52,800 (~RM29,500) which is a hefty price to pay. However, he was only charged HK$33,600 (~RM18,778)
The boy was so traumatized that he even took a day off from school. He had even asked Cheng why the doll was so terrifying. &nbsp;While all this happened, an online debate happened, and netizens debated if Cheng should have looked after his child more carefully or if the store should have placed the precariously balanced toy elsewhere out of harm&rsquo;s way.
But judging from the CCTV footage, the claim of the kid kicking the doll was false and that had also angered netizens.

Store manager admits responsibility for cornering the incident

As the incident blew up on social media, the manager had taken responsibility and said that he will be taking action to prevent such incidents in the future.
He also explained that the cost of the toy was high as it was a prototype which involved copyright and design, research and creation as well as the reinforced packaging fees to transport it. &nbsp;To perspective, the 25cm version of the doll cost HK$1,180 (~RM659.74) hence why the 1.8M tall version is costly.
KKPlus refunds the money and removes all large toys

KKPlus initially posted a statement stating that the issue had been resolved on 23 May. The following day (24 May), Kidsland International who is the parent company of KKPlus had released an apology statement to the family.
Additionally, they had also fully refunded them and stated that immediate improvement will be done to avoid mishaps like this again.
Unfortunately, the damage has been done as the whole ordeal had attracted over 20,000 comments which were mostly negative. In fact, the store&rsquo;s Facebook page had also been bombarded with hate reacts on many of their posts as well as reviews which brought their rating down to only 1 star.

I don&rsquo;t blame the kid, judging from the CCTV footage, the kid looks like he&rsquo;s just trying to avoid getting in the way of people in the store. Plus, if a store knows that their item is that valuable, they should of secured it properly or set it aside somewhere safer.
