Many of us from all over the world know that money is important. With the current economy in most countries, many of us are pretty much suffering as the cost of good are rising due to inflation.
But for many of those who are on the constant grind to get more money, you sometimes come across suspicious ads stating jobs overseas which could lead to you being human trafficked. Some even try to convince you to join in their business ventures which could lead to some losing more money than they already are.
However, there are other ways of earning money and lately, we&rsquo;ve been seeing many ads about Forex.
What Is Forex?

Forex is the process of speculating on currency prices to potentially make a profit. They are typically traded in pairs and by trading one another, a trader is typically speculating on which one of the currencies will be on the rise or will fall in value against one another.
Sounds simple enough right?
Well, the trading business ain&rsquo;t all fun and games. Seeing ads about it everywhere from YouTube videos to even advertisements which feature celebrities. Many are suspicious about how can one be so &ldquo;successful&rdquo; from Forex and live the life on luxury from doing this job alone.
Too all &ldquo;successful&rdquo; business or practices, there are also the dark sides of it.
TikTok user @tomqurus had took to the social media platform to show netizens the dark side of Forex by showing a video of a man claiming that certain influencers are not as what many of us think.

Of course, he did not expose the name of the said individual but the man in the video claims that those who are &lsquo;trade&rsquo; influencers don&rsquo;t actually achieve their wealth as its generally sponsored by someone who&rsquo;s dubbed as &ldquo;The Founder&rdquo;.
So, for all the things that you see as the big houses, luxurious houses and even the lavish lifestyle, it&rsquo;s all there for show. Even the flexible working hours are only mentioned to rope people into the trading business. These are the stages of people typically involved in the operation;
1) The Funder Someone who would typically have a lot of money in their account.
2) The Introducing Broker Individuals who solicits or accepts orders to buy or sell future contracts or even commodity options. Typically, they are those who have many followers and know how to market themselves out or a product.
The man in the video also explains that &ldquo;The Funder&rdquo; would never show his face and come up front and they are those who would rent out the houses and all the supercars driven by these people. Typically, they will have a quota to reach 500-1000 sign ups a week from the marketing done off Instagram and TikTok and if they don&rsquo;t reach their quota, they will pull back house, car and everything else and toss it to the next person.
It's easy to understand that in Forex, the more people/ fans who register under an influencers name, the more the income is generated for an individual. In the end of the video, the man had warned everyone to not fall for this scheme just cause others are living a luxurious lifestyle thanks to it.
Influencer Responds To Allegations
In a response to the video, 22-year-old influencer Aisar Khaled who is known for quite a number of controversies had stated that the mans allegations are not true.

He argued that &ldquo;The Founder&rdquo; and &ldquo;The Broker&rdquo; is essentially the same as the agent and product founder as the wealth that he (Aisar) shows is all he has due to his hard work. He also says that there&rsquo;s no such &ldquo;sponsorship&rdquo; as mentioned by the man in the previous video.
Due to this, netizens had been divided with their own opinions as they won&rsquo;t know which side of the story to properly trust. Others have voiced out their experience in the trading business where they too say that they no longer participate in it. However, they did share that some of these &ldquo;founders&rdquo; and &ldquo;brokers&rdquo; in fact do not have any ill intentions to them.

Are Trading Businesses Allowed In Malaysia?

I short, yes, it is allowed. In fact, Forex Malaysia&rsquo;s official website states that the business is legal but &ldquo;brokers&rdquo; may operate illegally as they may not own a license or is not registered by the Securities Commission Malaysia (SCM).
Meanwhile, joining the trading business is actually considered haram in Malaysia by the <a href="https://muftiwp.gov.my/artikel/irsyad-fatwa/irsyad-fatwa-umum/5160-irsyad-fatwa-siri-ke-675-hukum-trading-forex-untuk-tujuan-bersedekah">Federal Territory</a> and <a href="https://muftiperlis.gov.my/index.php/himpunan-fatwa-negeri/119-hukum-forex-trading-online">Perlis</a> Mufti.
Well, we&rsquo;ll leave it to ya&rsquo;ll to decide if this is a good idea for making money. Regardless, we don&rsquo;t condone of any illegal activities and all this should be at a user&rsquo;s risk.

Have you been experiencing a slight dip in your health and air quality lately?
If you haven't already noticed, or perhaps had to clear your foggy glasses, it's that time of the year when Malaysians need to brace themselves for poor air quality caused by the annual forest fires in certain parts of Indonesia.

Indonesia has been grappling with recurrent forest fires for quite some time now. In case you've been living under a rock, these fires are far from natural; in fact, they're deliberately ignited as the quickest (albeit most detrimental) means of clearing extensive land for agricultural purposes. While they may be intentionally started, fires are an inherent part of nature, and sometimes they spiral out of control, leading to extensive burning that exacerbates global temperature rise and air pollution.
Now, the pertinent question is whether Indonesia is shouldering any responsibility to combat the haze that extends to Malaysia. Brace yourselves; the answer won't come as a shock, as it's a resounding "no."
Indonesia&rsquo;s Environment Minister Denies Accusation Of Causing Haze

Even though clear geographical maps vividly display the wind patterns carrying haze from Indonesia into Malaysia, Indonesia's Environment and Forest Minister, Siti Nurbaya Bakar, responded to accusations of her country's responsibility for the haze. She contended that the reports on smoke distribution failed to demonstrate smoke crossing over to Malaysia.
In a press conference held in Jakarta, she asserted, "We diligently monitor the situation, and the data indicates no transboundary haze affecting Malaysia. In fact, the reports illustrate that the smoke in Indonesia is primarily concentrated in Sumatra and Kalimantan."

Siti also emphasized that Indonesian authorities are actively engaged in managing the smoke and have issued warnings to the 203 companies responsible for forest burning. In a significant move, they have also shuttered 20 companies participating in these activities, including those that are subsidiaries of Malaysian firms.
The Malaysian Environment Department attributes the country's deteriorating air quality to the transboundary haze originating from Indonesia, which has persisted since Friday, September 29th. As of 10 am today, October 3rd, the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) reported an Air Pollutant Index (API) of 157 in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, making it the most severely affected area by the haze.

The minister's comments quickly gained traction on social media, sparking widespread outrage among netizens who expressed their frustration with the recurring haze problem. Many criticized Siti for her statement and called on her to take greater responsibility for addressing the issue of open burning, which leads to the annual return of hazardous haze to Malaysia, often reaching severe levels.

If You Thought It Was Bad In Malaysia, It&rsquo;s Doing Worse In Indonesia

In case you weren't aware, Jakarta was ranked as the world's most polluted city by IQAir, a Swiss air quality technology company. They reported that the city consistently records unhealthy levels of air pollution nearly every day. Due to the severe pollution problem in the capital, Jakarta has undertaken several initiatives to combat air pollution. One significant effort involved the installation of 125 water mist generators throughout the city.
Furthermore, an additional 28 water mist units are currently being installed as part of the government's determined efforts to improve air quality. To address this issue, they have also introduced a protocol for watering over 290 road locations across Jakarta, collaborating with the city's Fire and Rescue Service department.
In response to these air quality concerns, residents of Jakarta have been strongly advised to wear KN95 or KN94 masks when outdoors. The Jakarta Health Service Department has cautioned against unnecessary outdoor activities to minimize exposure to polluted air.

As for the ongoing forest fires, tackling them has become quite challenging because Indonesia is currently experiencing its driest season since 2019, primarily attributed to the influence of the El Nino weather pattern. The situation has resulted in significant forest fires, with over 267,900 hectares (661,995.3 acres) of land burned this year alone. To put this into perspective, it's larger than the total of 204,894 hectares burned throughout the entirety of 2022, according to data from the environment ministry. Consequently, this has led to the spread of haze to numerous cities in Sumatra and Borneo.
Siti's comments as an environmental minister are concerning. Let's hope the Indonesian government takes effective measures to reduce the haze in the coming years.

Young Malaysian Uses Christianity As His Aesthetics
Lately, a young Malaysian caught the attention of a Twitter user who uses the handle <a href="https://twitter.com/cass48374/status/1708422070940709183">Wentour or @cass48374</a>. This individual posted a series of tweets unveiling someone's disrespectful behaviour towards Christianity. The hope expressed was that the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) would initiate suitable actions against the individual in question, including their arrest.

According to the Twitter thread, a young individual named Razeeq has come under scrutiny for posting offensive content on both his Instagram and TikTok accounts. As per the original poster (OP), this issue began a couple of months ago when Razeeq shared pictures on his TikTok account featuring himself and a friend posing beside graves in a Christian cemetery late at night. This act prompted criticism, with many condemning it as an offensive "photoshoot" that displayed a lack of respect for the deceased.
Despite facing substantial backlash in the comments section of his TikTok posts, Razeeq remained unapologetic and refused to acknowledge his wrongdoing. The controversy centres around his affinity for metal music, and he sought to emulate photos by artists who often incorporate Christian imagery in their album covers, music videos, and promotional photoshoots. An individual claiming to know Razeeq personally came forward to offer an apology on his behalf. However, despite their attempts to advise him, these efforts proved unsuccessful.

Within the thread, the OP included screenshots of comments made by TikTok users, illustrating Razeeq's reactions to most of those comments. Some of these comments were highly critical, to the point where the OP's initial call-out of Razeeq on TikTok resulted in the suspension of the user's account. It's worth noting that some of Razeeq's comments were also notably harsh in tone.

Concluding the thread, the Twitter user expresses their hope that the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) will initiate suitable actions against Razeeq. The user emphasizes their belief that every religion imparts valuable teachings, and it falls upon individuals to propagate those messages positively.

At the time of writing, the post has accumulated more than 679.7k views, over 5.6k reposts, and more than 5k likes on the platform. M’sian TikToker Exposed After Having Publicly Disrespecting Christianity On Social Media

Education plays a pivotal role for students from various backgrounds because with education, their future can be brightened and more human capital can be produced for the country&rsquo;s growth and stability be it for economic, political, or social reasons. 
Nothing brings more joy when students are eligible for free tertiary education to further their studies and pursue their dreams. This is true in the case of Sarawakian students. Recently, Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg officially announced that students from Sarawak who are eligible to enter into the institutes will be able to pursue their free tertiary education at state-owned universities from the year 2026 onwards. 
The five state-owned universities include Curtin University, Swinburne University, University of Technology Sarawak (UTS), i-CATS University College, and lastly, the Kolej Laila Taib (KLT).

Understanding the economic strength of the state and being the Sarawak finance and new economy minister, Abang Johari ascertained that the Sarawak government is strong enough to provide educational support in the coming three years as a means to produce more qualified Sarawakians and enable them to have access to new technology for the state&rsquo;s development. 
He had consulted the Education, Innovation, and Talent Development Minister Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn as well as his Deputy Datuk Dr. Annuar Rapaee. Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 20th edition of the Tidal Bore Festival in Simanggang on the 1st of October, Sunday, he revealed confidently that he foresees the future economic condition will be much stronger, and by that time, it will be a suitable year to conduct it. 
Why did he confidently say so?
According to him, the yearly projection of Sarawak&rsquo;s income has rocketed since 2020. Moreover, Sarawak had a recorded revenue of RM12 billion last year and he believes this year will be more fruitful than the previous. 
He also stated that there was a fund known as the &lsquo;Sarawak Sovereign Wealth Future Fund.&rsquo; To date, the fund is sufficient to offer free tertiary education, and the remaining balance will go to young Sarawakians besides boosting the state&rsquo;s economy as well as enhancing the infrastructure development throughout the state.&nbsp;

Previously, it was reported that Sarawak planned a sovereign wealth fund with RM8 million as the starting amount to build up the state&rsquo;s financial sustainability. As such, it intends to begin the fund by the year 2024. 
Sarawak is said to have a promising future and he encouraged the people to have the &lsquo;muhibah&rsquo; spirit with the aim of keeping unity alive besides working together as a means to elevate the state to greater heights. 
He associated his impactful saying with the regatta boat race at Pesta Benak which emphasized that the paddlers row together in one direction when all of them have a common goal of winning the race.

Numerous netizens, both men and women, praised the rider's actions, acknowledging that this small gesture held significant meaning for women commuters. Many also made light-hearted suggestions, suggesting that the rider should consider a role as an auxiliary police officer for train stations and even be compensated for assisting in train patrols.

M'sian Foodpanda Rider Applauded For Clearing Men From Women-Only MRT Coach

Commonly, many of us would like to avoid paying taxes if given a choice. However, the act of refraining from paying taxes will lead to major consequences we never thought of. 
Recently, a notable celebrity doctor shared a few videos through his TikTok account <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@say_shazril0">@say_shazril0</a> on his unpleasant experience of dealing with the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN) when he was contacted back in October 2020. He shared the incident he experienced to warn and urge the public to pay their taxes responsibly, especially YouTubers, influencers, TikTokers, and any freelancers who thought they were smart enough to escape from it.

Looking back at that moment, he received a letter from LHDN and was summoned by them to come to their office due to him not paying taxes for the vast and numerous content he posted on social media. 
Previously, he thought it was a scam but when a second letter came to knock at his door, he was like &ldquo;Shit, this was real!&rdquo; 
When he arrived at the LHDN office, piles of documents were presented to him and that led him to feel shocked as to how they were able to trace all the evidence of the social media campaign he did for several brands since 2016. 
As such, you can&rsquo;t avoid your responsibility, right? 
Dr. Shazril looked so "kantoi-ed" when he knew he couldn&rsquo;t hide as a means to protect himself when the truth was revealed in front of his eyes. 
The interrogation went on for hours and he was questioned on how much he charged for each campaign as well as his earnings for both shows named Tanya Doktor and MyDoctors. With that, he disclosed everything truthfully just so it would be easier for both parties. 
According to LHDN, they investigated that Dr. Shazril owned a few assets such as a house, car, and motorcycle, and from there, they realized he earned RM160,000 annually between 2018 and 2019. 
Fortunately, the interrogation was merely a &ldquo;test&rdquo; as LHDN wanted to know if Dr. Shazril was a truthful person.

After a thorough calculation from LHDN, apparently, he only needed to pay a total of RM50,000 to them but still, he was cracking his head as to how he was able to settle his tax liabilities in a month. 
Thankfully, an LHDN officer named Raihan was polite and supportive enough to manage his case. He requested him to search for all his receipts just so he could reduce his tax liabilities. In the end, from RM50,000, he managed to reduce the enormous amount to RM40,000! Moreover, another good news came when he was allowed to pay it on a few installment basis. So to say, his hard work of searching through highs and lows was worthwhile to ease his burden at least.

It can be said that Dr. Shazril truly learned his lesson. Now, he cultivates the habit of keeping all the receipts, arranging and sorting them accordingly for his own track record just so he can prove to LHDN whenever they are in quest of him. 
In one of his videos, he said, &ldquo;Pay your taxes. This is what contributes to the economy. Don&rsquo;t be like the old me, and fulfil your responsibilities.&rdquo;

This is to say, be it young or old, paying taxes is an inevitable process that everyone has to go through and is required to commit to.

2. Practicing Financial Planning &amp; Budgeting 
With the awareness that Malaysia&rsquo;s cost of living is increasing at an alarming rate, it is vital for youths to have a financial plan so that their finances are managed effectively. Create a monthly budget for yourself and list down all your income followed by your savings and expenses. Bear in mind that the total of your income should equate to or exceed the total of your expenses just so you do not overspend or else, you will be in deficit status.

RM28 Just For Economy Rice?!
Recently, X users (formally known as Twitter) @brgsjks and @Cikgu_Anep sparked a discussion about the rising prices of mixed rice. They shared their experiences of paying RM24 and RM28 for their meals, expressing their concern that the cost of this everyday dish is getting a bit excessive.

With a hint of sarcasm, he questioned whether this meal was worth the price, prompted by @brgsjks's complaint about being charged RM24 for a meal consisting of rendang, rice, and squid.
Let's delve a bit deeper into the pricing. The market rate for 1 kilogram of chicken in Malaysia is approximately RM10.33, but keep in mind that prices may vary depending on your location, and it could be slightly cheaper in rural areas. On the other hand, seafood, especially squid, has consistently been on the pricey side, ranging between RM34 and RM38 per kilogram. As for fish, Pomfret (ikan bawal) typically falls in the RM31 to RM38 per kilogram range, with seasonal fluctuations, especially during the rainy season.
Given these market prices for protein, it's not surprising that many food vendors find themselves compelled to charge higher prices to turn a profit. Additionally, we should consider that these establishments have more expenses than just buying meat. They also need to acquire cooking essentials, compensate their staff, and cover rental costs for their premises.
Beyond the costs of ingredients and operational expenses, another factor contributing to higher food prices is the overall high cost of living. This is acutely felt by many Malaysians who frequently dine out, whether due to their hectic work schedules or simply to avoid traffic when heading home.

Perhaps its time for stores to be more transparent when it comes to how much the price their items. It&rsquo;s understandable that people do need to make a living but at what cost? If you thought mixed rice was expensive, remember that we live in a world where Nasi Kandar in Penang can cost up to RM100 which is easily a couple of meals throughout the week for some people.

Working As An IT Support After Graduation
On Instagram, there is a very popular page that&rsquo;s been sharing the stories submitted by Malaysians about their work experience, struggles and insights called <a href="https://www.instagram.com/malaysianpaygap/">Malaysian Pay Gap</a>.
His initial foray into the IT field led him to a desk-side IT support role at a hospital. The position wasn't particularly glamorous, and the compensation, at RM1,800, wasn't exceptionally enticing. While some might consider this a decent starting salary, the stark truth was that he had to remain on-call 24/7 to address emergencies. After a year in this demanding role, he ultimately decided to resign, citing the job's intense nature as the primary reason for his departure.

His next career move took him to a local software company where he worked in customer support. The role at this company offered a more favourable job description compared to his previous one, and over the course of three years, his salary increased from RM3,000 to RM3,500. While this was a positive development, he began to feel professionally stagnant and believed that there were limited opportunities for growth. Consequently, he made the decision to resign and actively started searching for a new job.
Realising That There Was A Hidden Gem This Whole Time

While he was on the hunt for new job prospects, he stumbled upon a goldmine of opportunities for help desk agents. What caught his eye was that speaking multiple languages could land you a better pay cheque.
&ldquo;I have self-learned Japanese for a long time, though not super proficient but it is serviceable. I then registered for the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N2, scored it and used it to secure my 3rd job.&rdquo;
After snagging a job as an IT help desk staffer in a multinational company's shared service team, catering to Japanese clients, he was pleasantly surprised by his starting salary of RM4,800. Over the next two years, it crept up to RM5,300. Although he was content with his pay, another company dangled a tempting offer in front of him&mdash;RM8,000 in total, comprising a base salary of RM6,400 and a language allowance of RM1,600.

At the end of the day, the man took a moment to ponder his journey over the years. He acknowledged that if he hadn't been willing to venture beyond his comfort zone, he wouldn't have found himself in the position he occupies today.
&ldquo;Learning a new language and working in the said language environment has grown my career and broadened my horizon beyond my expectations. I can now watch anime without subtitles and travel to Japan with zero language issues,&rdquo; he shared.
He also left words of encouragement and told others to pick up a new language when possible as it could open up a door of opportunities in the future.
Now that&rsquo;s quite the encouragement. To be fair, as Malaysians, many of us are bilingual or even trilingual but it&rsquo;s no harm to always add a language or two to our vocabulary and expand our horizons. Hopefully, this will encourage others to always strive for knowledge and to perhaps step out of their comfort zone.

Meet 22-year-old Muhammad Amin Syarifuddin Aziz, who accomplished what many deemed 'unattainable.' In August 2022, while pursuing his education at Poly-Tech Mara College (KPTM) in Bangi Selangor, he ventured into the realm of clothing entrepreneurship. This bold move was spurred by the high market demand and a multitude of fashion trends sweeping through the industry.

Amin initially left school several years ago without much direction and ventured into the corn juice business, where he managed to earn approximately RM1,000 per day. Subsequently, he returned to his education, motivated by his desire not to be a financial burden on his parents.
His decision to pursue higher education was influenced by his parent's concern for his future. In response, he committed to continuing his studies to honour their wishes. He specifically opted for a Diploma in Business Management, aiming to acquire knowledge that would not only assist him in becoming a successful individual but also in advancing his business ventures.
A Progressive Start To His Business

Initially, when he first started his business, Amin only managed to sell 300 pieces of clothing and it was a pretty slow start. But thanks to the help of his teammates, he&rsquo;s managed to record sales of the shirts by earning RM100,000 in just two weeks.
He was very thankful when he managed to sell that many shirts and as for the profits, he has no intention of making any as he would like to help other students generate income and intends to help ease the burden of parents who have been bearing the cost of their children&rsquo;s education.
Since he started his shirt business, Amin has managed to help generate income for 60 agents among students and the challenge of his business is something he enjoys as it requires him to come up with strategies so he can balance both his business and studies at the same time.

To end it off, Amin also shared that his idol behind his shirt business is entrepreneur Hafiz Mahamad. He also shared his interest in clothing since he was a kid and that working brings him joy and only wants to see the success of the business he&rsquo;s worked in.
&ldquo;I really hope to meet him one day and would love to find out the secrets he has so I too can achieve success like him,&rdquo; he said.
Now that&rsquo;s very inspirational. This goes to show that no matter what you do in life if you keep the grind going, you&rsquo;re bound to achieve the unthinkable.
