Thinking of skipping out on the traffic jams and using public transport to get to work? Well, it looks like Malaysians can now plan their journey to work more smoothly now as the new MRT Putrajaya Line has just opened their services to the public.

The best part about this is that the newly launched line will be free till 31st March as stated by Prime Minster Anwar Ibrahim who wants to prioritise public transportation during the next annual federal budget.
&ldquo;Next year will be for transport because people lose productivity thanks to traffic congestion,&rdquo; he stated.
Get To Know The New MRT Line!
The new MRT line is the country&rsquo;s second MRT line following the completion of Phase 2 of their project. It had a built cost of RM30.53 million which stretches 57.7KM and has 36 stations which span from Kwasa Damansara to Putrajaya Sentral.
There are a total of 10 stops which allow connecting stations and interchange stations across Kuala Lumpur and it's said that the line will be serving up to 104,000 commuters daily.

If you&rsquo;re up for an adventure and would like to experience the full MRT experience, a one-way trip will take around 1 Hour and 30 Minutes as the trains run every 4-6 minutes during peak hours, 7-10 minutes during non-peak hours and 7-15 minutes on weekends and public holidays.

Fun fact, the new trains are called &ldquo;Ducky&rdquo;. If it isn&rsquo;t obvious enough, it&rsquo;s because the new train looks like it has a duckbill. Commuters should also be stress-free now as the new train is capable of carrying 1,200 passengers at a time.
This time around, for those wanting to utilize public transport will not need to worry about the parking situation as there are a total of 6,416 parking bays available across 17 stations.

Now for the cost, as public transport is supposed to help ease commuters, MRT users can enjoy a flat rate of RM4.30 if they use the same Touch &lsquo;n Go used for parking and riding the train on the same day. However, do note that there will be a maximum charge of RM16.10 for commuters who do not tap their card by the end of the day.

Jordan, who has been backpacking solo through Southeast Asia and the Mediterranean for the past 18 months while working remotely for a US-based company, had arrived in Malaysia from Vietnam on 17 May. He was believed to be staying at the Robertson Residences in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur.
Family Raises Alarm After Uncharacteristic Silence
His mother, Leanne Burnett, became alarmed when she didn&rsquo;t hear from him the following day, something she describes as completely out of character. The two last spoke on Monday, 26 May, with no indication of anything amiss.
&ldquo;He always checks in regularly because he knows how worried we get,&rdquo; she told the Daily Mail. &ldquo;If he had lost his phone or laptop, he knows my number by heart. He&rsquo;d go to a hotel or an internet caf&eacute; to get in touch. The silence is just not like him.&rdquo;

&ldquo;Tracking him throughout the day didn&rsquo;t help &mdash; the location never changed. It was like he just disappeared,&rdquo; she added. &ldquo;We have no idea what has happened, but something is seriously wrong.&rdquo;
Efforts to Locate Jordan Intensify

Also debuting this year is the HoYo FEST Stage Segment, where cosplayers, performers, and artists will have the chance to perform live in front of fellow fans. HoYo FEST 2025 Returns To Malaysia This July With Exciting Activities For HoYoverse Fans

Malaysia&rsquo;s top men&rsquo;s doubles duo, Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, continued their exceptional form in 2025 by capturing the Singapore Open title, marking their third major victory this season and signalling a potential ascent to the world No. 1 ranking.
Comeback Kings in Singapore

In a thrilling final at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, the world No. 3 pair staged a dramatic comeback to defeat South Korea&rsquo;s 10th-ranked Seo Seung Jae and Kim Won Ho 15-21, 21-18, 21-19 in a 65-minute encounter. The win was particularly sweet as it avenged their previous defeat to the same opponents in the Indian Open semi-finals earlier this year.
After conceding the first game, Aaron-Wooi Yik regrouped in the second set, showing steely determination to level the match. In the deciding set, both sides exchanged powerful rallies, but it was the Malaysians&rsquo; aggressive net play and attacking drives that earned them a 16-12 lead, which they held onto to seal the victory.
Their Singapore Open win follows triumphs at the Badminton Asia Championships in April and the Thailand Open in May. The pair took home a prize of US$74,000 (~ RM314,240), while the runners-up earned US$35,000 (~RM148,627).

He has helped stabilise the pair&rsquo;s consistency, polish their attacking game, and boost their morale in both training and match settings.
&ldquo;Coach Herry has played a huge role. He gives us confidence and doesn&rsquo;t pressure us unnecessarily,&rdquo; Aaron shared. Wooi Yik added, &ldquo;After the first set, we knew we had to push harder. He&rsquo;s refined our playstyle, and this win is part of a much bigger mission.&rdquo;
Eyes on Jakarta: The Indonesia Open Awaits
Buoyed by their Singapore success, Aaron-Wooi Yik now set their sights on the prestigious Indonesia Open (3&ndash;8 June) in Jakarta, a Super 1000 event with a total prize pool of US$1.45 million. The champions in the doubles category will earn US$107,000, with the runners-up pocketing US$50,750.
However, the path to a fourth title this season will be anything but straightforward. Drawn in the top half, they are expected to face formidable opponents including Japan&rsquo;s Hoki-Kobayashi, India&rsquo;s Chirag-Satwiksairaj, and local favourites Leo Rolly Carnando-Bagus Maulana. They also face a tricky opening round clash against Denmark&rsquo;s Frederik Sogaard and Rasmus Kjaer &ndash; the same pair they narrowly beat in the Malaysia Masters.
Climbing the Rankings: A Shot at World No. 1

Still, Aaron remains grounded. &ldquo;Our priority is to win titles, not chase rankings. If we continue to perform, the ranking will follow naturally.&rdquo;

The pair&rsquo;s red-hot form has also been financially rewarding. Over their last four tournaments, Aaron-Wooi Yik have amassed RM708,905 in prize money, collecting titles in three of them and finishing runners-up once. With such momentum, they are not only Malaysia&rsquo;s best hope on the international badminton circuit but also firm favourites to make further history in 2025.
