<p>Whenever you go out in Malaysia, you&rsquo;ll probably notice that many of our malls or entertainment outlets actually have dedicated areas and facilities for the disabled (OKU). If you were to go to any mall within the Klang Valley, you&rsquo;ll frequently notice that they too ensure that there are sufficient restrooms for them whenever nature calls.</p>
<p>The good thing is that many Malaysians out there all respect the OKU citizens and always offer a helping hand to them in any way possible to ensure that what they are doing can be done smoothly, especially if they are taking public transport.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, not all people are good and sometimes they really need to be thought a lesson on how to respect the disabled.</p>
<p><strong>OKU Man Waits 1.5 Hours To Use OKU Toilet</strong></p>
<p>Recently, Daniel Lee who is a para-athlete advocate recorded an incident that he faced after needing to use the restroom at Pavilion KL.</p>

<p>As Lee was making his way to the OKU restroom, he found out that it had been occupied by someone else. He then suspected that the occupant was not a disabled individual and proceeded to wait outside for 1.5 hours.</p>
<p>He then knocked on the door 3-5 times to ensure that someone was inside and that&rsquo;s when he heard someone yell, &ldquo;I&rsquo;m not done!&rdquo;.</p>
<p>Frustrated at the situation, Lee then contacted the mall's management and a staff member came to his aid. Shortly after, the man who had been hogging the OKU restroom came out and also attempted to shrug the issue off.</p>
<p><strong>The Man Was Allegedly Washing His Clothes</strong></p>

<p style="text-align: left;">Lee had confronted the man for hogging the OKU restroom for 1.5 hours and asked why did he do so. The latter answered that he had recently moved out and that he wanted to wash his clothes before his trip back to this home town.</p>
<p>He even gave the excuse stating that he only used the OKU restroom as he claimed that there had been no one using it and thought the people knocking on the door were the cleaners. Additionally, he did not want to use the normal restroom to wash his clothes.</p>
<p><strong>I&rsquo;m Not In A Wheelchair Like You</strong></p>
<p>When Lee requested for the man to wait till security arrives to assess the mall&rsquo;s policy regarding the issue, the man later got angry and tried to walk away.</p>

<p>He then proceeded to question the latter on why did he use the restroom thinking if he had any disabilities or if he was homeless and why he had used the OKU restroom.</p>
<p>In a rude manner, the man replied &ldquo;Of course, I don&rsquo;t have (any disabilities). I&rsquo;m not in a wheelchair like you&rdquo;. He later got more aggressive towards Lee and even told him to shut up. As the man lost his patience, he attempted to escape via the lift and eventually walked out of the shopping mall.</p>

<p><strong>Mixed Reactions Among Netizens Online</strong></p>
<p>As Lee did explain to the man that if there is a penalty for wrongfully using the disabled restroom, he would not pursue it further as he just wants it to be a stern reminder to the man. Lee also explains that the point of his post was not to shame the man but to help raise more awareness of the issues that are faced by the disabled community on a daily basis and hopes that more individuals would be more considerate in the future.</p>
<p>Yes, the man did apologise but no action would have been taken against him as Pavilion does not have any policies in place that could penalise or reprimand anyone who abuses the OKU restrooms.</p>
<p>Netizens reacted to a series of videos posted by Lee and despite having support for it, some also questioned why didn&rsquo;t Lee go to another OKU restroom instead of waiting for 1.5 hours. Some even condemned Lee for &ldquo;running the man&rsquo;s reputation&rdquo;.</p>

<p>The new Gaming Porting Toolkit is similar to what Valve has done with Proton and the Steam Deck. The toolkit will be powered by source code from Crossover which is a wine-based solution for running Windows games on macOS.</p>
<p>&ldquo;The new Game Porting Toolkit provides an emulation environment to run your existing unmodified Windows game and you can use it to quickly understand the graphics feature usage and performance potential of your game when running on a Mac,&rdquo; said the engineering project manager for GPUs and graphics Aiswariya Sreenivassan.</p>
<p><strong>Pretty Impressive Tool For The Future Of Gaming On Mac OS</strong></p>

The toolkit aims to transform the Windows API calls into its proprietary Metal API while also adapting the x86 instructions for compatibility with Apple Silicon.</p>
<p>Additionally, it will handle the translation of essential APIs for input control, audio, and other functions specific to MacOS. This development presents an opportunity to assess the gaming capabilities of Apple's GPU and evaluate its performance. While Apple frequently touts impressive performance metrics, the lack of supported titles has made it challenging to gauge its standing compared to conventional PC hardware.</p>

<p>Porting Windows games to Mac has historically been a challenging process for developers, involving recompiling source code, converting shaders, re-implementing graphics subsystems, and adapting audio, input, and HDR rendering. However, Apple now offers tools that simplify this process. Developers can assess the required porting work and optimize their games on macOS using Apple's tool, along with the Metal Shader Converter that automatically converts GPU shaders to Metal. These tools greatly reduce the time and effort needed to successfully port games from Windows to Mac.</p>
<p>If Apple keeps this up, we can soon bridge the gap between Windows and Mac users who love gaming. Yeah, the dream is distant but with what was shown this week, that dream can potentially be a reality.</p>

Though the M1 and M2 Macbook Pro do come with ProMotion adaptive refresh rate that hits 120hz, it would still be a safer idea for you to run games on the external monitor to prevent screen tearing.</span><br /></em></p>

<p>Having a family go missing is one of the most concerning things anyone could ever face. But the worse part of it all is knowing that they are still alive but forced to work as piglets (someone of low financial and social status into indentured servitude).</p>
<p>Recently, 22-year-old beautician Angie Chong Sum Yee went on a trip to Chiang Mai, Thailand alone and had since gone missing.</p>

<p>After her mother had put up a post on Facebook to get assistance from the public, the Malaysian embassy in Thailand has been working closely with authorities to locate her. She was last seen leaving a location on a motorcycle with a woman dressed in white.</p>

<p>In the days she was missing, her WeChat status had been updated stating she is safe and her location had also changed. This time, three suspicious videos of her were uploaded on Facebook by a new Facebook account that went by the name &ldquo;Moe Aye&rdquo;.</p>
<p>Now, here&rsquo;s the suspicious part, of the three videos uploaded, two of them were taken by a camera that filmed a phone playing a video of Angie.</p>
<p>As the videos are being reposted and shared everywhere, many netizens pointed out that Angie looks rather unnatural in the video as if she was forced to film it.</p>

<p>&ldquo;I am working here now and I am safe. Please don&rsquo;t worry about me. I am extremely safe here. So police, please don&rsquo;t trouble the rider who gave me a ride. They don&rsquo;t know anything.&rdquo;</p>

<p>What was even more suspicious was that Angie&rsquo;s Instagram account has also posted &ldquo;updates&rdquo; stating that she is okay and has contacted her family. She also stated that all the videos seen on Facebook and websites about her were real.</p>
<p><strong>No Rest Till She&rsquo;s Back Safely</strong></p>
<p>Despite all the circulating videos, Angie&rsquo;s mother Chee Choy Wen said on <a href="https://www.facebook.com/choywon0914/posts/pfbid0uQ9uwTWiLwGgvGwHUZ3AcfhcbnvXnG15iUMJMSKf7rXSXD1hdX2TqwLjFsvMahBCl">Facebook</a> that she will get to the bottom of this and told the members of the public not to trust the videos posted online as she has not seen her in person nor heard from her yet.</p>

<p>If you&rsquo;re looking to get a specific time slot, Alena says that the best time to book appointments is at 12am or early morning as it seems that they refresh their appointment times during those hours. After securing your appointment, it&rsquo;s also best for you to show up 30 minutes earlier as you&rsquo;ll be prompted to check in using MySejahtera, obtain your queue number and get your blood pressure checked for only RM1.</p>
<p>After about 15 minutes, Alena was called to meet the dentist. She had a talk with her doctor addressing her concerns and stating which treatment she would like to get. She opted to have a general check-up and scaling. The highlight of the treatment was that it was all done within 10 minutes and she was in and out of the clinic within 30 minutes.</p>
<p>One thing she noted is that the doctor said she was lucky as there weren&rsquo;t a lot of patients that morning and the waiting and treatment time could have taken longer if there were a lot of people at the clinic that day.</p>

<p>For those who love binge-watching a series, you may know that lately, Disney+ has been on a roll as they have been releasing many different Star Wars series and, in all honesty, they have been way better than the movies they produced, more specifically Episode 7 till 9 of the Skywalker Saga.</p>
<p>This time around, Disney+ has set a primer date for the highly anticipated series, Star Wars Ahsoka as it will be releasing this August 23.</p>

<p>The upcoming series serves as a spin-off from The Mandalorian series. If you&rsquo;re new to the Star Wars franchise, the show takes place along the same timeline as The Mandalorian and as a pseudo-sequel to Star Wars: Rebels. Unlike the many characters we&rsquo;ve seen in the previous Star Wars series, Ahsoka is a character that goes way back to the prequels as she first appeared in Star Wars: Clone Wars cartoon before her story was continued in Star Wars: Rebels.</p>

<p>Her character was one of the most talked about characters out there as in previous iterations of the shows, we only saw an animated version of her until she appeared in Season 2 of The Mandalorian and the first season of The Book of Boba Fett.</p>
<p><strong>Who Are The New Characters?</strong></p>
<p>Now, since Ahsoka isn&rsquo;t a character like Din Djarin or Boba Fett who&rsquo;s covered in armour almost the majority of the time, she&rsquo;s one of the more unique characters in the franchise. In fact, Ahsoka will feature many characters who will be appearing in the live-action for the first time.</p>

<p>Ahsoka Tano will be played by Rosario Dawson who started in Marvel&rsquo;s Daredevil (2015-2017). Aside form that, the series will also be featuring stars such as Natashia Lui Bordizzo who plays Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, and Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">This time around, we&rsquo;ll also be seeing the debut of the franchise&rsquo;s notorious villain Grand Admiral Thrawn who is played by Lars Mikkelsen.</p>
<p><strong>Do You Need To Watch Other Series To Understand Ahsoka?</strong></p>

<p>Back during the Star Wars Celebration, executive producers Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau talked a bit about the series. Fans wondered if they needed to watch The Mandalorian Season 3 before heading into Ahsoka but Filoni revealed that fans can watch and enjoy them on their own. In fact, fans wouldn&rsquo;t even need to turn back to the old Clone Wars cartoon to understand her character.</p>

<p><strong>Is The Arrival Of The Series Bad For Other Disney+ Series?</strong></p>

<p>For those who may not know, Disney typically releases an episode every Wednesday on their platform as seen from other Star Wars series in the past. As the first episode is set to air on August 23, we will see a clash in the premier of another series.</p>
<p>Aksoka is set to have 8 episodes and the penultimate episode of Season 1 is set to arrive on 4 October, two days before the premiere of Loki Season 2 and the finale will be airing between the first and second episodes of Loki on October 11.</p>
<p>Though this does not mean much to some who just enjoy watching a good series as they unwind from their busy day, this could be an issue for some as there&rsquo;s a gap between the end of the Marvel series Secret Invasion (premiering in June) and the premier of Ahsoka.</p>
