Over the weekend, the 8th Annual Retro Havoc car meet happened at The Curve in Mutiara Damansara.
For those who don&rsquo;t know, the event is one of Malaysia&rsquo;s biggest car meets to date as over 1,000 cars attended including cars from local builders and countries such as Thailand and Singapore being invited along to the event.

For many, cars are just something that helps you, your friends and family members to get around town. But at Retro Havoc, the cars present were more than just any cars as enthusiasts all around have put a lot of blood, sweat and tears to build up their dream setup that helps form a bond between builders and enthusiasts.
What started as a small car event has certainly grown over the past 8 years as it was reported that the event had an attendance of over 70,000 people cramping in the underground carpark at The Curve.
Chaos All Over
Typically, at a car show, there&rsquo;s a rule that people will need to respect the builds and try not to get their hands on the car to avoid damaging it. Unfortunately, Retro Havoc was full of issues this year from &ldquo;kids&rdquo; not respecting the cars to people damaging and even sabotaging the vehicles.
One of the cars that made headlines was by an owner of a beautiful RX-7 from Singapore who had his original Re Amemiya carbon wing damaged after one of the owners of the cars had decided to rev their cars to show off some pops and bangs.

Visually, it looked like a small incident but in reality, the wing itself would cost you anywhere between RM4,000 &ndash; RM8,000 to purchase it. Fortunately for the owner (<a href="https://www.instagram.com/yipyeets/">@yipyeets</a>), the culprit came forward to admit their mistake during the event after the video of them breaking it went viral.
In the post, the culprit admitted that Retro Havoc was her first car event and she shouldn&rsquo;t have ran that night when one of the cars started revving their engines. Yip had replied to her stating that he will not be asking for any compensation from the culprit as he will cover the cost of the repairs, but in return, he had wished to send a message out to the car community for others to learn a lesson and to respect one another vehicles at future events.

Leaning On Cars And Leaving Fingerprints Everywhere
Aside from Yip&rsquo;s RX-7 incident, other issues surfaced all over the event after owners and enthusiasts complained about visitors leaving their fingerprints all over the cars including those leaning or even sitting on the bodywork of the car and even a hit-and-run case on someone&rsquo;s Mercedes w202.

More photos have been circulating on social media of members of the public posing around with cars while posing or leaning against the bodywork. Unfortunately, another show car owner too suffered the same faith as Yip&rsquo;s RX-7 where a piece of the wing had been broken.
Issue Of Sabotage 
Among all the incidents that happened during the car meet, the icing on the cake went to <a href="https://www.instagram.com/airconsejuk/">@airconsejuk</a>, a private car club based in Malaysia which had reported to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) about an act of Sabotage towards one of their vehicles.
The group had a specially reserved area at the car meet at the Mainstage Zone D and one of the owners claimed that a total of 6 of his car&rsquo;s lug nuts had been stolen while 14 more were loosened.

According to their Instagram post, the car had been left alone for 30 minutes while one of the drivers was making their way into the venue. Meanwhile, the other members of the group had left for a smoke break and to catch some cool air as the heat in the carpark was unbearable after a participant had done some pops and bangs in the venue.

According to the group, the incident happened between 10:10 pm and 10:40 pm and they requested the public to assist and find out who had done such an act. Now, for something like this to happen is not easy and the group suspects that the suspect may have had a wrench or wrench gun with them. They are currently working with the security management of The Curve to get CCTV footage of the incident.
After an incident like this, it seems like the car community in Malaysia will soon receive more hate rather than love. Previously, a car meet happened at Uniqlo in Bandar Sri Damansara and local DJ Yusef Kifah slammed the crowd for making noise in a public area close to a neighbourhood.

A Life of Service: From Chicago to Peru and Beyond

Born in 1955 in Chicago to Spanish and Franco-Italian parents, Prevost was raised in a devout Catholic household and ordained in 1982. Prevost&rsquo;s deep ties to Peru led to his eventual naturalisation as a Peruvian citizen. He remains a beloved figure in the country, particularly among marginalised communities, where he was known for advocating for the poor, fostering inclusion, and promoting social justice. Upon news of his election, the bells of Lima&rsquo;s cathedral rang in celebration, and President Dina Boluarte joyously declared, &ldquo;The Pope is Peruvian; God loves Peru!&rdquo;
In 2014, he was appointed bishop by Pope Francis and was later named a cardinal in 2023. He played a pivotal role in one of Francis&rsquo; most significant reforms&mdash;adding women to the Dicastery for Bishops, the powerful body that oversees episcopal nominations worldwide.

Observers also note that the name Leo hearkens back even further to Pope Leo I, who famously persuaded Attila the Hun not to attack Rome&mdash;a reminder of the Church&rsquo;s role in diplomacy and peacemaking.

A Night to Remember at Saloma KL

On 30 April 2025, over 200 devoted fans and media guests gathered at Saloma Bistro in Kuala Lumpur for a special event titled Perjumpaan Ahli Mesyuarat Tingkap. MASDO had spent days teasing the event on Instagram through cryptic posts, prompting widespread speculation online. When the night arrived, it turned out to be more than just a gathering&mdash;it was a heartfelt celebration of their journey and an intimate thank-you to fans.
In appreciation of the fans who have supported them through thick and thin, MASDO performed a live mini showcase featuring some of their most beloved hits. Songs such as Dinda, Lautan Asmara, Janji Manis, Bunga, and Berchanda di Malam Indah echoed through the venue, with fans singing along and soaking in the retro vibes that have become the band&rsquo;s trademark.
The performance was not just entertainment&mdash;it was a walk down memory lane, and a prelude to something much bigger.

The climax of the evening came when MASDO dramatically unveiled the poster for their 10th-anniversary concert. In a symbolic reveal, a cloth draped over the MATIC building was pulled down, exposing the details of Al-Kisah Masdo Sepuloh Tahun&mdash;a grand concert scheduled for 30 August 2025.
This milestone show will be held at Idea Live Arena KL @ 3 Damansara, a brand-new venue with a 7,000-capacity. MASDO will be the first act to perform there, promising fans a high-energy yet intimate experience steeped in nostalgia and celebration.
Ticketing and Pre-Registration Details
Fans eager to be part of this momentous occasion can pre-register for early bird Rockzone tickets priced at RM128 between 30 April and 1 May. Once public sales begin, tickets will be available at RM148 for Rockzone (free standing) and RM198 for Category 1 (seated).
A New Album in the Works
Speaking to the media after the event, band members Ali Sariah, Asmawi, and Putu Ceri expressed their heartfelt gratitude to fans. &ldquo;For them to turn up here itself is a fantastic gift for all of us,&rdquo; said Ali. Reflecting on the journey, he added, &ldquo;It has been an exciting ride. The last 10 years were full of ups and downs, but breaking into the Indonesian market was a major achievement.&rdquo;
The trio also revealed they have been hard at work on a brand-new album to coincide with their 10th anniversary. &ldquo;We want this album to be special,&rdquo; they shared. &ldquo;And we hope those who have been with us from the beginning will also join us at the concert&mdash;it&rsquo;s a gift for them too.&rdquo;
