Many employers argue that despite repeated recruitment drives, few Malaysians are willing to take up these physically demanding roles.</p>
<p>The shortage has become increasingly apparent in recent years, with businesses warning that a lack of manpower is affecting productivity and growth. In the food and beverage industry alone, the Muslim Restaurant Owners Association of Malaysia (Presma) estimates that around 25,000 positions remain unfilled.</p>
<p>Against this backdrop, Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Minister Steven Sim has proposed a different approach &ndash; one that focuses not on bringing in more foreign workers, but on making use of refugees who are already living in Malaysia.</p>

<p>Located at 39G, Jalan SS21/37 in Damansara Utama, the outlet immediately drew large crowds during its opening weekend, with pizzas reportedly selling out due to overwhelming demand from curious Malaysians eager to finally try the chain made famous through American television shows, films and social media.</p>

<p>Starbucks Malaysia has officially unveiled the Kopi Creator Kolektif (KCK) Class of 2026, introducing 10 promising local creatives selected to take part in a creator development programme aimed at nurturing the next generation of Malaysian musicians and filmmakers.</p>

The selected finalists will now undergo a series of industry-led mentorship sessions, workshops, and masterclasses before presenting their original works during a live showcase on 16 May 2026 at Starbucks Reserve&reg; IOI Mall Damansara.</p>
