Concurrently, he expressed appreciation for the government's commitment, allocating development funds to the Subramaniar Swamy Temple Committee for the multipurpose hall's construction, thus concluding the Indian Cultural Centre development project on the temple premises.
"This Indian Cultural Centre will function as a central point for the public to engage with and comprehend the culture of the Indian community in Malaysia. The facility will encompass food stalls, art and music exhibitions, museums, and more," he remarked, emphasizing that the hall will have a capacity for accommodating 3,000 people simultaneously.

&nbsp;Heavy rainfall in the early hours of Wednesday morning led to a landslide that caused part of a wall at an international school in Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI) to collapse. The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department received a distress call via the MERS999 emergency line at 7.18am. Within minutes, 15 firefighters from the TTDI and Sri Hartamas stations were dispatched to the scene, along with two fire engines &ndash; a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) and an Emergency Medical Rescue Service (EMRS) vehicle.
Rapid Response Averts Potential Disaster

&ldquo;Upon assessment, it was confirmed that the collapse had impacted various parts of the school infrastructure,&rdquo; Azkhan stated. &ldquo;Classrooms, the staff room, student toilets, and even the library sustained visible damage. In addition, two vehicles parked within the premises were also affected by falling debris.&rdquo;
Firefighters managed to stabilise the situation and secure the area by 7.55am. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported among students, teachers, or nearby residents. The timing of the landslide, occurring just before the full arrival of students, likely prevented what could have been a far more serious incident.
School Operations Disrupted
Following the incident, the school temporarily suspended in-person classes to allow for safety checks and structural assessments. Parents were notified shortly after the incident, and arrangements were made for some students to be picked up early. Affected areas within the school were cordoned off, and emergency protocols were activated.
School officials expressed relief that no one was injured and thanked the fire and rescue personnel for their swift action. "We are working closely with authorities to ensure the safety and structural integrity of our buildings before resuming normal operations," a school spokesperson said.
City Hall Steps In for Follow-Up Action

The death of Pope Francis marks the end of an era characterised by a fierce commitment to the poor, the marginalised, and interfaith harmony. Throughout his papacy, Francis championed environmental stewardship, denounced war and inequality, and emphasised compassion in the Church's teachings.
Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim paid tribute to the pontiff in a heartfelt Facebook post, recalling his own visit to the Vatican early in Francis&rsquo; tenure. &ldquo;Pope Francis was a steadfast advocate for peace and his efforts to build bridges across faiths and cultures earned the respect of many, including in the Muslim world,&rdquo; Anwar said.
The Prime Minister further praised the pope&rsquo;s moral clarity, especially his consistent calls for an end to violence in Gaza, and his insistence on the dignity of migrants and refugees. &ldquo;His life of service and quiet strength brought to mind the words of the Bard: &lsquo;His life was gentle, and the elements so mix&rsquo;d in him that Nature might stand up and say to all the world, This was a man&rsquo;,&rdquo; Anwar wrote.

The Vatican reported that Pope Francis had fallen into a coma before succumbing to a stroke and irreversible cardiovascular arrest. His condition had deteriorated sharply despite brief signs of recovery, including a public appearance on Easter Sunday and meetings with dignitaries such as US Vice President JD Vance and King Charles III earlier this month.
His death was formally certified in a ceremony at the Casa Santa Marta, his residence, on Monday evening. In keeping with his wishes, Francis will not lie in state on a raised platform, nor will he be buried in the traditional papal tomb beneath St Peter&rsquo;s Basilica.
