Pok&eacute;mon fans in Malaysia have plenty to look forward to this year as Kuala Lumpur has been selected as the first city in Asia to launch the franchise&rsquo;s highly anticipated 30th anniversary celebrations.
The Pok&eacute;mon Company officially unveiled a series of major events during a press conference held in Kuala Lumpur on 16 June, confirming that Malaysia will lead the regional rollout of the anniversary festivities ahead of other cities including Taipei, Singapore, Manila and Bangkok.
The celebrations will feature a large-scale Pok&eacute;mon festival, Malaysia&rsquo;s first-ever Pok&eacute;mon drone show, a Pok&eacute;mon-themed fun run, an official trading card tournament, and the country&rsquo;s first Pok&eacute;mon Center Pop-Up Store.
Kuala Lumpur Chosen To Launch Pok&eacute;Xciting! Asia Tour

The centrepiece of the celebrations is Pok&eacute;Xciting!, a large-scale Pok&eacute;mon festival designed to commemorate 30 years since the release of Pok&eacute;mon Red and Pok&eacute;mon Green on the Nintendo Game Boy in 1996.
The event will take place at KLCC Park on 12 and 13 September 2026, with free admission for the public.
According to The Pok&eacute;mon Company, Pok&eacute;Xciting! was created as a way to thank generations of fans who have supported the franchise over the past three decades while bringing Pok&eacute;mon enthusiasts together through immersive experiences, live entertainment and interactive activities.
Visitors can expect a lively festival atmosphere filled with Pok&eacute;mon-themed experiences suitable for both long-time fans and newcomers.

Participants will begin by selecting their first partner Pok&eacute;mon before taking on themed challenges throughout the course. These include Gym Battles, encounters with wild Pok&eacute;mon, opportunities to complete a Pok&eacute;dex Search Sheet, and even the chance to evolve their chosen Pok&eacute;mon during the adventure.
The event is designed to combine fitness, storytelling and interactive gameplay into a unique experience for fans of all ages.
Registered runners will receive a special Pok&eacute;mon RUN 30 runner&rsquo;s kit, including an exclusive UNIQLO-sponsored event T-shirt.
Festival Zone Open To Everyone
Even those who do not participate in the run can still enjoy the celebrations.

Opening from 12 September until 31 December 2026 at the new Ombak KLCC retail development, the store will feature a wide range of official Pok&eacute;mon merchandise, including Pok&eacute;mon Center-exclusive products, trading cards, plush toys and limited-edition collectibles.
Fans can also look forward to special products created exclusively for the 30th anniversary celebration.
Alongside the Pok&eacute;mon Center Pop-Up Store, Ombak KLCC will also host Malaysia&rsquo;s first Nintendo Pop-Up Store.
The Nintendo store will offer merchandise from some of the gaming giant&rsquo;s most beloved franchises, including exclusive Kuala Lumpur-themed items. One standout product is a special T-shirt featuring Mario and Luigi with artwork inspired by the Petronas Twin Towers.

The highly anticipated F✦FOREVER 1st World Tour will arrive at Unifi Arena on 7 and 8 August 2026, with both concerts beginning at 8pm. Organised by Live Nation Malaysia and Star Planet, the Kuala Lumpur stop promises an evening filled with nostalgia, emotional ballads and spectacular production.
After successful performances across Shanghai, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Wuhan and Chongqing, the group is now bringing its "City of Stars" experience to Southeast Asia, with Malaysia joining stops in Manila, Bangkok and Singapore.
Who Are F✦FOREVER?

For many fans across Asia, F✦FOREVER represents more than just a music group &ndash; it is a symbol of an era.
The original F4 was formed in 2001 following the phenomenal success of the Taiwanese drama Meteor Garden, which starred Jerry Yan, Van Ness Wu, Vic Chou and Ken Chu as the iconic group of wealthy students known as F4. The series became a cultural phenomenon throughout Asia and helped launch the members into Mandopop superstardom.
Although the group officially disbanded in 2009, their influence has endured for more than two decades, with songs such as Meteor Rain, The First Time (Di Yi Shi Jian), Yan Huo De Ji Jie, and Jue Bu Neng Shi Qu Ni remaining favourites among fans.
F✦FOREVER marks a new chapter for the legendary act. The current touring line-up features Jerry Yan, Van Ness Wu and Vic Chou, alongside Ashin, the frontman of Taiwanese rock band Mayday, who has played a key role in bringing the reunion project to life.

A Reunion Years In The Making

Fans were first given hope of a comeback when the original members reunited for a surprise appearance during Mayday's concert at Taipei Dome in 2025.
Since then, F✦FOREVER has evolved into a full-scale touring project celebrating friendship, music and shared memories from the golden age of Mandopop.
The addition of Ashin gives the performances a fresh dynamic while honouring the legacy of the original F4, particularly with Ken Chu not participating in the current tour.

The Kuala Lumpur concerts are expected to be among the biggest Mandopop productions staged in Malaysia this year.
Jointly presented by Maybank and Prudential Malaysia, the production reportedly carries a budget of around RM33 million and involves close to 300 crew members.
One of the show's standout features is its specially designed 360-degree four-point star-shaped stage, allowing audiences from every angle to enjoy a closer connection with the performers.
The concerts will also feature immersive crystal pillar visuals, meteor shower-inspired effects, advanced lighting displays and around 20 specially designed stage outfits worn across the four performers.
Alongside their latest collaborations such as Forever Forever and Always Be My Bro, fans can expect refreshed arrangements of timeless classics including Meteor Rain, Yan Huo De Ji Jie, Di Yi Shi Jian and Jue Bu Neng Shi Qu Ni, promising a nostalgic journey through some of Mandopop's most memorable years.
