In a shocking revelation, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has officially named former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob as a suspect in an extensive corruption and money laundering investigation. Azam underscored the significance of the evidence, confirming that Ismail Sabri is a suspect in the case. "Firstly, he has been required to declare his assets under Section 36 of the MACC Act. Secondly, the money was discovered in connection with him, and we will require his statement to determine the source and intended use of these funds."
Cash, Gold Bars, and Luxury Goods Discovered in Safe House

The MACC confirmed that although raids were conducted at multiple locations, the bulk of the confiscated funds and valuables were found in this single residence. Luxury watches and jewellery were also seized, though their total value is still being assessed.
The seizures followed the arrests of four individuals on 21 February, including two individuals bearing the title &lsquo;Datuk,&rsquo; believed to have been close aides to Ismail Sabri. &ldquo;If we can use MyKad for 5.4 million recipients with 3,500 stores, it&rsquo;s not that different and we could also use the same system for RON95,&rdquo; said Amir Hamzah, stressing that the system has already demonstrated its effectiveness.

A Love Story That Turned Into a Costly Trap

Liu, despite having never met "Ms. Jiao" in person, remained emotionally invested. The scam continued for two months, with frequent conversations and exchanges of photos and videos that strengthened his belief in the authenticity of the relationship.

Investigators also revealed that the syndicate operated as a team, coordinating their efforts to deceive victims with a combination of fabricated documents and AI-generated visuals.
Further analysis revealed that the fraudsters used advanced AI generative technology to manipulate voices and facial expressions, making the fake persona appear lifelike in video calls. The use of AI in scams has allowed criminals to deceive victims with an unprecedented level of realism.
