The ustaz is said to have taken advantage of the boy&rsquo;s passion for Islamic music, using it as a lure to gain his trust.

Being from a B40 (low-income) household and looking up to the man as a respected religious figure, the boy agreed. However, once in the privacy of a hotel room, the encounter turned predatory. The ustaz allegedly slipped his hand into the boy&rsquo;s trousers and groped him.
Frightened, shocked, and alone, the boy locked himself in the bathroom for five hours, hiding until the ustaz fell asleep. He then managed to escape and contacted a family member. A police report was promptly lodged.
A Pattern of Abuse Allegedly Ignored

&ldquo;Why was no action taken since the first report? Why is this man still free and continuing to use the title &lsquo;ustaz&rsquo; as a mask for his vile actions?&rdquo; she questioned in her post.
The lack of action by authorities has reignited concerns about the systemic failure to protect victims, particularly when accused individuals hold religious or social influence. Instead of facing accountability, the ustaz has since responded by filing a defamation lawsuit against the boy&rsquo;s family &mdash; demanding a public apology and financial compensation worth hundreds of thousands of ringgit.

The United States will impose a sweeping 25% tariff on all Malaysian products entering the country from 1 August 2025. The move, announced by former US President Donald J. Trump in an official letter dated 7 July to both Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, signals a significant escalation in US-Malaysia trade relations.
Trump cited longstanding grievances over Malaysia&rsquo;s trade practices, specifically &ldquo;tariff, non-tariff policies and trade barriers&rdquo; that he claims have created an &ldquo;unsustainable&rdquo; trade deficit. The letter, also posted on his Truth Social platform, reflects the former president&rsquo;s familiar stance on rebalancing trade ties with US partners.
&ldquo;Relationship Has Been Far From Reciprocal&rdquo;

However, with talks yielding little progress, Trump extended the pause by three weeks before increasing the tariff rate by one point to 25%.

Malaysia is not alone in facing higher US import duties. Japan and South Korea were also notified of a 25% tariff, while Indonesia faces a 32% rate, Thailand 36%, and Laos and Myanmar 40%&mdash;down from Trump&rsquo;s earlier April figures. From 1st July 2025, Malaysians will be able to renew and activate their My50 unlimited travel pass entirely through the Touch &lsquo;n Go (TNG) eWallet app, as part of a nationwide push to digitalise public transport systems.
The days of long queues at Rapid KL counters may soon be over. According to Transport Minister Anthony Loke, Prasarana Malaysia Berhad, in partnership with Touch &lsquo;n Go, has launched a digital version of the My50 Travel Pass, offering greater convenience for urban commuters.

Previously, renewing the monthly pass required commuters to line up and use their MyKad (NRIC) for activation. With the new system, users can perform the entire process from their smartphones in a matter of minutes &mdash; eliminating wait times that could previously stretch to 45 minutes or more at peak hours.
&ldquo;This move aligns with our efforts to modernise public transport and push towards a fully digital and cashless society,&rdquo; said Loke during the launch. &ldquo;A world-class public transport system is not just about having trains and buses; it&rsquo;s also about seamless digital infrastructure.&rdquo;
How It Works: My50 on Your Phone
