While the move initially targets ministry-owned venues such as Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia (PSM) and the Sepang International Circuit (SIC), organisers hosting concerts elsewhere are strongly encouraged to adopt the same practices.
Minister Yeoh underscored the need for these reforms, describing them as a proactive response to safeguard Malaysia&rsquo;s youth and uphold the integrity of public entertainment. By tightening safety protocols and promoting awareness, the government hopes to reduce drug-related incidents and ensure a safe space for music lovers.
A Five-Pronged Approach to Safer Events
The updated guidelines outline five essential requirements for organisers to implement. These include:
1) Hydration Points:
