Recognising this, Rapid KL is finally taking a major step towards simplifying things for commuters by merging multiple on-demand van booking apps into one unified platform. The move aims to make daily travel smoother, more efficient, and far less confusing.
Rapid KL to Consolidate On-Demand Bookings Under One App by November

Beginning 1 November 2025, Rapid KL will consolidate its three existing booking apps &mdash; Mobi, Trek Rides, and Kummute &mdash; into a single platform called Rapid On-Demand. The integration will roll out in two phases, starting with service zones currently using the Mobi and Trek Rides apps, followed by zones that rely on Kummute in mid-November.
According to Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd acting CEO Ku Jamil Zakaria, the initiative aims to provide a seamless and consistent booking experience for all passengers across the Klang Valley.
&ldquo;With this streamlining, users now only need one app to make bookings in all zones operated by Rapid KL, making the travel experience easier, faster, and more user-friendly,&rdquo; Ku Jamil said.
Previously, commuters had to download different apps depending on their location or zone, which often led to confusion and inconvenience. The new unified app is expected to simplify this process significantly, ensuring that all bookings and payments can be handled through a single interface.
The Rapid On-Demand app is already available on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Existing users of Mobi, Trek Rides, and Kummute are advised to switch to the new app before 1 November to avoid service disruptions during the transition.
Expansion and Reorganisation of Service Zones

In tandem with the app consolidation, Rapid Bus is also expanding and reorganising several of its on-demand van service zones across the Klang Valley. The expansion, to be implemented in stages from November, aims to improve last-mile connectivity &mdash; making it easier for passengers to travel between residential areas, train stations, and business districts.
The expanded network will involve 50 vans serving newly added and merged routes. Among the highlighted routes are:

<li>Serdang Raya Selatan Station &ndash; Taman Bukit Serdang</li>
<li>Semantan Station &ndash; Menara DBKL</li>

</ul>
Additionally, coverage will be extended to nine new neighbourhoods and two major business districts, including Mont Kiara, Puchong Jaya, Taman Intan Baiduri, Taman Naga Emas, USJ 1, UNITEN, TAR UMT, Taman Sri Sinar, SS7 (Kelana Jaya) and Taman TAR, as well as Matrade.
Ku Jamil said the integration of apps and merging of zones are part of Rapid Bus&rsquo;s long-term plan to make public transport more accessible and user-friendly.
&ldquo;Previously, users had to download and use different apps depending on their zone, which could cause confusion. With one app and expanded zones, the process becomes simpler, faster and more consistent across all areas,&rdquo; he explained.
A Milestone for Public Transport Convenience

The consolidation marks a key milestone for Rapid Bus as it continues its push towards digital transformation and greater service efficiency. Passengers can make payments using multiple existing options, including Touch &lsquo;n Go cards, the MyRapid Concession Card, OKU Smile Travel Pass, and the Unlimited Travel Passes such as My50, MyCity, and Family Pass. Rapid Bus also confirmed that the popular RM1 promotional fare will remain available to all users for now.
By integrating the services, Rapid KL aims not just to improve connectivity but also to create a more sustainable and reliable ecosystem for commuters navigating the Klang Valley.
&ldquo;This ensures users can travel to more destinations easily without switching between apps or services, making public transport a more efficient and practical choice,&rdquo; Ku Jamil added.

Perodua has announced a reduction of up to 10% on service maintenance parts and labour costs across its entire vehicle lineup, offering some relief to Malaysians facing rising living expenses.
The initiative takes effect from 19 June 2026 and applies to all Perodua models, including the company&rsquo;s newly launched electric vehicle, the QV-E. Customers can expect savings on a wide range of maintenance services, from routine inspections and parts replacements to labour charges at authorised service centres nationwide.
According to the national carmaker, the move is part of its ongoing efforts to make vehicle ownership more affordable while ensuring customers continue to benefit from professional servicing and genuine replacement parts.
Customers Expected To Save Around 10% Per Service Visit

As a result, customers are expected to save approximately 10% on their average service bill.
&ldquo;We welcome our customers to visit our authorised service centres to find out more about the deal and to use genuine parts, so that your Perodua vehicle will continue to remain reliable and efficient when you need it most,&rdquo; he said.
He added that the company hopes the initiative will help reduce mobility-related expenses for Malaysians while providing greater value to existing customers.
Unlike typical promotional campaigns that focus only on selected components, Perodua&rsquo;s latest initiative covers both parts and workmanship costs, allowing owners to enjoy more meaningful savings during routine maintenance.
Applies To Every Perodua Model, Including The QV-E

The company said the campaign covers inspection services, maintenance packages, parts replacement and labour costs associated with vehicle servicing.
By including both conventional and electric vehicles, Perodua aims to ensure that all customers can enjoy lower ownership costs.
More Than Five Million Vehicles Stand To Benefit

Given the scale of its customer base, the company believes the latest initiative could help a significant number of Malaysians reduce their transportation expenses. Zainal noted that the reduction was made possible through improvements in operational efficiency and efforts to eliminate unnecessary wastage within the company.
&ldquo;We have improved efficiency while at the same time eliminating any wastages in our operations. The benefits of these activities are passed to our valued customers,&rdquo; he said.
Follows Recent Changes To QV-E Ownership Plans

Malaysia&rsquo;s highest-performing Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) students will soon receive a major boost in their academic journey, with public universities set to waive undergraduate tuition fees for the country&rsquo;s top achievers.
The new initiative, announced by Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek, will begin with the 2025 STPM cohort and benefit the 18 students recognised as the nation&rsquo;s top performers.
The sponsorship programme, which comes in the form of full tuition fee coverage, reflects the commitment of public universities to support outstanding students and ensure they have greater access to higher education opportunities.
Speaking during the STPM Top Students, Malaysian University English Test (MUET) and Malay Language Proficiency Certificate for Foreign Nationals awards ceremony, Fadhlina described the initiative as an important step towards strengthening Malaysia&rsquo;s Form Six ecosystem.
Encouraging More Students To Choose Form Six

According to Fadhlina, every public university will sponsor at least one of the top STPM students by covering their undergraduate tuition fees.

&ldquo;If this year it is one student, hopefully next year it can be five,&rdquo; she said, adding that the ministry wants to ensure deserving students can continue their education at degree level without financial barriers.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to encourage more students to pursue Form Six studies, which remains one of Malaysia&rsquo;s most respected and affordable pre-university pathways.
The government has also introduced several measures in recent years to strengthen Form Six education, including the expansion of Form Six colleges, the provision of smartboards, school assistance programmes, MADANI Book Vouchers and additional academic support initiatives.
STPM 2025 Records Stronger Results

The announcement comes alongside another positive milestone for STPM candidates.
The Malaysian Examinations Council revealed that 1,336 students achieved a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point average (CGPA) in the 2025 examination, an increase of 70 students compared to the previous year.
The number represents 3.5 per cent of the 40,199 candidates who registered for the examination.
Overall performance also improved, with Malaysia&rsquo;s national CGPA rising from 2.85 in 2024 to 2.88 in 2025 &mdash; the highest national average ever recorded for the examination.
Meanwhile, the number of students obtaining five As increased from 53 in 2024 to 60 in 2025, while those earning four As rose from 1,228 to 1,285 candidates.
The percentage of candidates achieving a full pass in four or five subjects also increased, reaching 77.64 per cent compared to 76.55 per cent the previous year.
Recognising Excellence Across Different Categories

This year&rsquo;s 18 top national achievers represent a diverse group of students from various backgrounds.
The recipients include seven students from the Science stream, seven from the Social Science stream, one Orang Asli student, and three students with special educational needs, including candidates with visual impairments and other disabilities.
In recognition of their achievements, each student received RM1,000 in cash, a plaque and a certificate, in addition to the newly announced tuition fee sponsorships.

Fadhlina also paid tribute to parents and teachers, highlighting the important role they play in students&rsquo; academic success.
She noted that exceptional examination results are rarely achieved through individual effort alone, but are often supported by families and educators who continuously encourage students throughout their educational journey.
The minister stressed that STPM remains one of the strongest pathways into higher education, offering students a solid foundation before progressing to degree-level studies.
With tuition fee waivers now being offered to the country&rsquo;s best performers, the government hopes more students will see Form Six as an attractive route towards achieving their academic ambitions while strengthening Malaysia&rsquo;s education system for the future.

Originally, 5SOS was only scheduled to perform at Kuala Lumpur's Unifi Arena on 17 November 2026.
However, after tickets sold out almost immediately, organisers confirmed an additional Malaysian concert on 4 December 2026, giving fans another opportunity to catch the band live.
Both shows will take place at Unifi Arena, formerly known as Axiata Arena, with performances scheduled to begin at 8pm.

Good news for Malaysians who still rely on cash for their daily spending. Starting 1 July 2026, bank customers will no longer have to pay the RM1 fee when withdrawing money from another bank&rsquo;s ATM or Smart Recycler Machine (SRM), making cash withdrawals more convenient and affordable across the country.
The initiative, announced by Malaysia&rsquo;s banking industry in collaboration with Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet), means debit cardholders can enjoy unlimited free interbank cash withdrawals at more than 14,000 ATMs and SRMs nationwide.
No More RM1 Charge For Interbank Withdrawals

Previously, customers who withdrew cash from an ATM belonging to a different bank than the one that issued their debit card would be charged an RM1 fee for every transaction.
From 1 July onwards, that charge will be removed completely. Regardless of which participating bank issued the debit card, customers will be able to withdraw cash from any participating ATM or SRM across Malaysia without paying an additional fee.
The waiver applies to all ATMs and Smart Recycler Machines operated by banks nationwide, giving users greater flexibility to use whichever machine is most convenient.
Unlimited Free Withdrawals Across More Than 14,000 Machines
The new initiative will provide debit cardholders with unlimited fee-free withdrawals through a network of over 14,000 banking machines across the country.
This means consumers no longer need to search for their own bank&rsquo;s ATM simply to avoid paying extra charges. Whether they are travelling, working in another town or simply using the nearest available machine, they can access their money without worrying about additional costs.
The move is expected to make everyday banking more accessible, especially for those who frequently withdraw cash.

Anthropic has described Fable 5 as one of its safest and most capable AI models, with built-in safeguards designed to prevent misuse in sensitive areas such as cyberattacks and biological research.
Why Has The US Government Stepped In?

According to Anthropic, the US government issued an export control directive requiring the company to suspend access to Claude Fable 5 and Claude Mythos 5 for foreign nationals due to national security concerns.

In AI terms, jailbreaking refers to techniques that bypass safety restrictions and make the system produce responses it was originally designed to block.
