Japan is one of the most famous tourist destinations for many in the world. In fact, they almost cover everything that everyone likes from their popularity of anime and manga, car culture, nature and even food!
For almost 2 years, Japan&rsquo;s borders had remained closed as they were trying to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Earlier this year, Japan announced that they would open their borders for tourism but only to those who apply for a holiday with a tour guide.
But looks like there&rsquo;s good news as Japan is finally listing the Covid-19 travel restriction next month! From 11 October onwards, all international tourist who have completed their vaccination will be allowed back in Japan and can travel visa-less.
Not only that, the minimum number of daily arrivals of rate of foreign tourist in the country was also abolished.

Aside from welcoming more international travellers into the country, Japan&rsquo;s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida says that the are also planning to launch a campaign to offer domestic travel discounts and event discounts for the residents in Japan. This is to encourage the locals to help support business and the entertainment industry which had been hit the hardest during the pandemic.
Declaration of vaccination must still be done

Despite of having the borders reopened, tourist will still need to declare their vaccination which includes tourist having received a booster dose. Furthermore, when travelling to Japan, you will need to be screened and be tested negative to enter the country.
Currently, the approved vaccines for tourist to travel to Japan are AstraZeneca, Covaxin, Jansen, Moderna, Novavax and Pfizer.
Japan says that with the reopening of their borders for international tourist, they will be seeing an influx of tourist which will help revive the country&rsquo;s economy. Throughout the pandemic, the Japanese government stated that they had been affected hard with their currency falling sharply against the United States (US) dollar.
&ldquo;Japan will reopen the border gates, and it is hoped that the decision will raise the value of this country&rsquo;s currency to the same as the US dollar,&rdquo; said Japan&rsquo;s Prime Minister, Fumio Kishida.

With the JR Pass, you can travel long distances in the train and even sleep comfortably in an overnight sleeper train which are highly popular in Japan.

Unlike Malaysia where our weather is pretty much hot sun, rain, haze and floods, Japan has some of the best seasons to see the vibrant colours of the country.
The best timing to visit Japan is Spring (March &ndash; May) and Autumn (September to November).

Recently, a couple embarked on a trip to Genting Highlands, a popular destination known for its refreshing highland climate and respite from the city's heat. However, not all trips unfold seamlessly. During their journey back from their hillside outing, the couple suddenly realized that their wallet was missing.
The original poster (OP) recounted that as they headed back to Raub, the realization of their missing wallet sank in, and they were close to giving up hope of retrieving it. However, thanks to his wife's quick thinking, she suggested contacting the Marrybrown restaurant where they had dined to inquire about their lost wallet.
Spoke To The Employee And Had A Sigh Of Relief

After successfully locating the outlet's contact number online, the gentleman initiated a conversation with an employee named Kogi (although the spelling was uncertain). To their immense relief, Kogi confirmed that the restaurant had indeed discovered a wallet beneath one of the tables, perfectly matching the description provided by the wife.
Upon further inspection, it became evident that the wallet did not contain any form of identification. Instead, it held a sum of cash. The wife clarified that the money in the wallet was reserved exclusively for covering their family's monthly grocery expenses. They expressed profound gratitude to the Marrybrown staff at Genting Sky Avenue for their responsible handling and safekeeping of the wallet.
Staff Goes The Extra Mile For The Couple
Originally, the plan was to mail the wallet back to its owners, but there was a concern about the inherent risk of it being potentially lost in transit, given the tendency of items to go astray during such processes. Recognizing this potential issue, Kogi proposed an alternative solution: transferring the money via bank transaction. Shortly thereafter, she provided reassurance by sending a photograph of the bank transfer receipt.

Not long ago, an X user (formerly known as Twitter), <a href="https://twitter.com/izzat_bashir">@izzat_bashir</a> shared a distressing scene of a cat that was found to be feeble at a public university in Gombak, Selangor, and its body was full of white paint in which he posted a few photos and a video to describe the cat&rsquo;s ill condition.

Outraged by the unfortunate incident, he expressed that he had informed about the unpleasant situation to the relevant authorities for the necessary action. 
According to the <a href="https://www.animal.org.my/animal-welfare-act-2015/">Animal Welfare Act 2015</a>, under Part V (Cruelty to Animals) of section 29, whoever is deemed guilty of animal cruelty shall be fined not less than RM20,000 and not more than RM 100,000, or imprisonment of not more than 3 years or both. 
This is to say, we should not mistreat animals for they are special creatures that deserve to be adored and appreciated, or else, the consequences will be a heavy punishment to bear and the moral of the story is, that those who commit should be responsible for it.

Recently content creator Nini Comei recounted an incident from her trip to Italy. She shared a TikTok video featuring her and her friend Fathin Lola, emphasizing that Italy's streets are frequented by numerous con artists and deceivers who often target popular tourist spots.
Nini highlighted that the initial approach by these scammers typically involves asking tourists about their place of origin. Once they have engaged your attention, they may attempt to place a charm bracelet on your wrist and persistently cling to your hand, making it difficult to break free from their grasp. She also mentioned that these scammers invade your privacy by peeking into tourists' wallets to discern the denominations of banknotes, which have varying colours corresponding to their values.

Nini also had a direct encounter with one of these scammers, witnessing them in action. She observed one of them surreptitiously extracting money from the wallet of another unsuspecting tourist who was strolling in the vicinity. According to Nini, these scammers persist in taking money from your wallet with their hands until they are content.
For those who are new to European travel, such occurrences are relatively common at popular tourist destinations. These scammers often employ persuasive tactics and will only release your hand after they've successfully extracted money from you. Nini mentioned that they may use phrases like "This is a gift for you because I love your people" as a ploy to convince tourists to "purchase" the charm bracelets they offer.
Following the sharing of a video capturing these scammers near the Colosseum, Nini subsequently posted a second video, demonstrating that these scammers are widespread. They were spotted later on in Vatican City, indicating the prevalence of such scams in various tourist areas.

Char kuey teow is indeed one of the Asian cuisines favoured by many, whether Singaporeans or Malaysians. But when we order a plate of this dish, not all of us would like to include bean sprouts because, for some of us, it is not to our liking.

Recently, a Singaporean diner named Steven Wong was shocked by the additional charge of 50 cents when he requested &ldquo;no bean sprouts.&rdquo; He told the puzzled incident to <a href="https://www.asiaone.com/singapore/might-well-pick-them-out-myself-diner-baffled-bukit-panjang-hawkers-50-cent-charge-remove">Asia One</a> on September 26, Tuesday when he was aware of a sign in Mandarin at a stall named &lsquo;Wu Fu coffee shop&rsquo; located in Fajar Shopping Centre whereby additional ingredients like seafood, egg, and beansprouts would be for S$2 (~RM 6.88), S$1 (~RM 3.44), and S$0.50 (~RM 1.72).

However amusing it was, the confusing part is that you are still being charged an extra 50 cents (~RM 1.72) for the removal of bean sprouts, but why? Logically, when an ingredient is removed, there shouldn&rsquo;t be an extra charge. But in this case, the 50-year-old female owner explained with her justifications that they only have 3 woks at their stall, and normally, they cook about 4 to 5 portions at once. So, when a customer&rsquo;s order is without beansprouts, they ought to make a new batch for them. With that, it consumes a lot of their time as well as the energy spent.

Therefore, this clearly indicates that preparing bean sprouts truly eats up a lot of time when there are customers who demand to not have bean sprouts for their char kway teow. 
Besides selling fried char kway teow, the owner, Madam Goh, had 20 years of experience in cooking carrot cake, oyster omelettes, and fried bee hoon. 
Her stall has been operating in Fajar Shopping Centre for two months and she shared her experience that she did encounter a customer who ordered three packets of it &ndash; the first was pure noodles, the second was with pure kway teow, followed by the third with pure rice noodles. As such, the customers behind would need to line up in a long queue while awaiting their dish to be readily served.

Despite the extra charge seeming reasonable from the owner&rsquo;s point of view, nevertheless, there are Singaporean customers like Steven who found it ridiculous that he felt it was not worth paying the extra price. He furthered on by saying that he would rather pick out the bean sprouts by himself than have his 50-cent pocket money gone.

Another customer named Tan agreed that the price should remain the same when a customer requests to exclude bean sprouts. However, Tan in an understanding manner explained that the reason behind the surcharge is due to them cooking it in bulk and when a customer wants to remove bean sprouts, they will be required to cook it separately at different times. 
Regardless, Goh mentioned that the list of additional charges has been listed ever since the stall opened. So, it is up to the customers&rsquo; preferences on how they would like their money to be spent, and blaming the owner is like pointing fingers at others in regard to their own displeasure. She added that displaying the price list is a way of making things easier for them as well as for customers.

Following an internal inquiry and a review of CCTV footage, it was revealed that the customer initially received an insufficient amount of chilli sauce but was promptly provided with extra packets upon request.
However, the situation took a turn when the customer, despite being informed that the additional chilli sauce was complimentary, became verbally aggressive toward the staff. He insisted on paying for an extra 10 packets of chilli sauce. Subsequently, the incident was reported to the police as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of their employees. McDonald's emphasized that the welfare and well-being of their crew members remain their top priority.

Some customers are willing to shell out for an expensive meal, while others are not. A recent diner named Edwin Lu, who indulged in a delectable chicken rice feast at Wong Mei Kee restaurant, was left utterly flabbergasted and bemused when he received a bill exceeding RM80 for the entire meal!

Edwin may not have been aware that the restaurant holds a Michelin star. In fact, this restaurant often referred to colloquially as the "Datuk roast pork" eatery, is owned by an individual who has been honoured with the title of Datuk. Consequently, patrons like Edwin are not only paying for the delectable chicken rice but also for the prestige associated with the owner's Datukship and the high-quality cuisine served at the establishment.

MAS X AirAsia Santan?

&ldquo;If AirAsia and Malaysia Airlines work together, we could make so much business together. That kitchen can go to Thailand, it can go everywhere,&rdquo; he stated.
This proposal for a joint venture may have arisen in response to the criticism MAS received regarding its in-flight food offerings. Passengers on certain flights were advised to "Bring Your Own Food," and currently, only specific routes provide meal options. Short-haul flights receive pre-packaged meals, while long-haul flights receive revised meal offerings.

While we previously covered an article in which a Chinese tourist expressed their dissatisfaction with AirAsia's Pak Nasser's Nasi Lemak, claiming it tasted poor, it's worth noting that this is just one of several instances where individuals have had less than satisfactory experiences.

Having personally sampled a variety of meals provided by Santan on flights, I can attest that they are quite delicious. I would particularly recommend the 'Thai Basil Chicken with Rice' and their 'Bukhara Chicken Biryani,' both of which offer a satisfying burst of flavours, ensuring a fulfilling in-flight dining experience.
While the prospect of MAS enlisting Santan as their meal provider seems promising, there remains a question regarding the suitability of Santan's offerings for Business and First-Class passengers, who may have different culinary expectations during their flights.

Like, who could ever replace MAS&rsquo;s iconic Satay in-flight meal which till now stands as one of the best options ever served by the airlines.
