However, much to their surprise, their table was soon overflowing with an abundance of noodle bowls, far beyond their expectations.

As they placed their orders, the friends had no intention of indulging in a feast; however, what unfolded next was purely accidental. To their surprise, once their orders were in, the table began filling up with an endless stream of bowls.

The trio found themselves in awe as bowl after bowl kept arriving at their table. TikTok user TommyG, also known as @lifeastanakwagu, decided to share the hilarious experience they had with the mountain of orders.
He captioned the video &ldquo;When someone from Sabah mistakenly orders in KL. Our face is surprised because the orders are still coming. In total, there are 28 bowls and we had to finish them all.&rdquo;
With the abundance of food and the risk of waste looming, the trio ingeniously set up their phone to capture a timelapse of their endeavour to consume all the dishes. For those familiar with Boat Noodle, each bowl is bite-sized, and remarkably, the trio encountered no difficulty in devouring all 28 servings, much to their relief.

While Boat Noodle might be a familiar spot for us in Peninsular Malaysia, it could very well be a novelty for our friends from East Malaysia. As of now, the video has garnered an impressive 2.9 million views on TikTok, with many netizens entertained by the trio's escapade. It's a sentiment shared by many who find that one bowl at Boat Noodle is never sufficient, although 28 bowls might be a tad excessive. According to the TikTok user, the mishap occurred due to their misunderstanding of the restaurant's ordering process.

If you're curious about the damage to their wallets, the TikToker reveals that each specific bowl they ordered cost approximately RM3.80. Multiply that by 28, and they ended up spending a total of RM106.40 on noodles alone. Surprisingly, it's quite affordable for a meal for three people. Including the drinks&mdash;RM9.50 for the iced teas and coffee, and RM3.50 for the bottle of water&mdash;their estimated bill, excluding any additional dishes, could have amounted to a little over RM119.40 for the trio.
It's surprising how the drinks ended up costing more than the food, isn't it? Nevertheless, it seems like the trio had a satisfying meal despite the mix-up in their order. Considering the potential alternatives, they actually got off pretty lightly, as dining out elsewhere could easily rack up bills averaging between RM35 to RM50 per person. Let's hope they'll exercise more caution when ordering next time&mdash;and this advice applies to all of us who dine out as well.

Exploiting the fear of missing out (FOMO) that drives many collectors, he managed to secure payments from multiple buyers before vanishing into thin air.
One victim, identified as Ms A, was personally approached by the scammer, who knew of her enthusiasm for Royal Molly figures. On 5 February, she placed an order with a promised delivery date of 5 March. However, the excuses soon began rolling in&mdash;first, he blamed shipping delays from China, then tried to upsell her a different colour variation for an extra RM500. By 7 March, he finally admitted he had never placed her order. Despite promising a refund, he disappeared, leaving Ms A with a RM7,488 loss and no collectables to show for it.
A Web of Deception Unravelled

In total, the stolen amount was nearly RM300,000&mdash;enough to purchase a small apartment.
Eventually, the victims managed to track down the scammer&rsquo;s brother. However, his response was nothing short of insulting&mdash;he proposed a repayment plan of RM500 per month, a sum so small it would take decades to fully repay the victims. To make matters worse, he issued a threat: if anyone reported the fraud to the police, all repayments would cease immediately, turning the situation into a financial hostage crisis.
A Shameless Display of Audacity

It was an act of deception within a deception which really blew the mind of many.
As of now, only three victims have officially filed police reports, while others have either accepted the slow repayment plan or decided to cut their losses. The scammer, meanwhile, is believed to be overseas, potentially surrounded by a collection of Royal Molly figures bought with stolen funds.
A Costly Lesson for Collectors
This case is a stark reminder of the risks associated with unchecked trust in online purchases, particularly in tight-knit collector communities where passion often overrides caution.

Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng, who has been approached by victims for assistance, has urged more people to come forward and report the fraud. He advised that the scammer should be given one last opportunity to refund the money before the matter is escalated legally.

More than ten people in the group began suffering from extreme vomiting and diarrhoea&mdash;undeniable signs of food poisoning. As the night progressed, the severity of the symptoms escalated, and by morning, two members had to be rushed to the hospital for intravenous drips, while others sought treatment at nearby clinics.
The repercussions of the incident went beyond health issues. Several group members were forced to take sick leave from work, while children attending international schools had to miss classes. The financial burden from medical expenses, combined with lost productivity, only added to their distress.
A Struggle for Accountability

She explained that the group had split into five separate clusters throughout the day, each eating different meals&mdash;with some even skipping lunch entirely&mdash;yet every single person who ate the lok lok that evening fell ill.

This means consumers may soon have to pay RM2.50 for the same quantity.

"We feel bad about increasing kuih prices, but we have no choice. If we stick to the old prices, we won&rsquo;t make any profit," he said.
Tarmizi also highlighted the unpredictable nature of kuih sales. "Some days, everything sells out, and on other days, it doesn&rsquo;t. If it doesn&rsquo;t sell, we are left with nothing but exhaustion," he added, expressing the challenges faced by small vendors.
Possible Further Price Hikes During Ramadan

He explained that suppliers rely on coconuts imported from Indonesia, which cost between RM3.30 and RM3.40 per piece. However, transportation delays often result in some coconuts arriving rotten, increasing production costs and reducing supply.
"For now, I am selling coconut milk at RM13 per kilogram because I don&rsquo;t have the heart to charge more. But if coconut prices continue to rise, sellers might have to increase the price to RM20 per kilogram during Ramadan," he warned.
