Marvel fans in Malaysia will soon have another chance to experience Avengers: Endgame on the big screen, with the 2019 Infinity Saga finale returning to cinemas as Avengers: Endgame Encore on 25 September 2026.
The special re-release comes ahead of Avengers: Doomsday, which is scheduled to arrive in Malaysian cinemas in December. Rather than simply bringing back the original film, Marvel is adding new material intended to connect Endgame with the next Avengers story.
For Malaysian fans, however, there is one important thing to note: ticket sales and exact showtimes have yet to be announced locally. TGV Cinemas currently lists upcoming titles through its platform, but Avengers: Endgame Encore ticketing has not been made available yet, so fans will have to wait for local cinema announcements.
What Is Different About Avengers: Endgame Encore?

The Encore version will largely remain the same film fans watched in 2019, but it reportedly has a 185-minute runtime, around four minutes longer than the original theatrical cut.
Those additional minutes are the interesting part.
Marvel has confirmed that the re-release will include an exclusive look at Avengers: Doomsday, with an additional sneak peek for audiences watching on IMAX and Disney's Infinity Vision-certified screens.
The New Footage Is Expected To Connect To Doomsday

Marvel has not revealed exactly what the new footage will show, so anything beyond the confirmed Doomsday preview remains speculation. One obvious possibility is a post-credits sequence or additional scene following the conclusion of Endgame. The original film famously did not have a traditional post-credits scene because Marvel wanted it to feel like the definitive ending to the Infinity Saga.
With Doomsday now around the corner, an added scene at the end would make sense as a way of setting up the next chapter.

According to the entrepreneur, his response to the criticism was particularly frustrating because it appeared to suggest that he was deliberately allowing scalpers to resell his products at inflated prices.

Haze continues to affect several parts of Malaysia, with air quality deteriorating across Sarawak, the Klang Valley and parts of the peninsula as smoke from fires in Indonesia contributes to worsening conditions.
Authorities have urged Malaysians, particularly vulnerable groups, to limit outdoor activities and monitor the latest Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as the haze persists.
Several Areas Record Unhealthy API Readings

As of 26 August 2026, several areas nationwide were recording unhealthy air quality, according to the latest Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) readings.
In Sarawak, Sri Aman recorded an API reading of 167, followed by IPD Serian at 164 and Samarahan at 162.
The Klang Valley was also affected, with Cheras recording 159, Shah Alam 157, Johan Setia 158 and Batu Muda 152. Putrajaya recorded 158, while Nilai in Negeri Sembilan recorded 162.
An API reading between 101 and 200 is classified as unhealthy, while 201 to 300 is considered very unhealthy and readings above 300 are hazardous. Malaysia's API readings are updated hourly from monitoring stations nationwide.
Haze Linked To Fires In Indonesia

The worsening haze comes as Indonesia continues efforts to contain forest and land fires in several parts of the country, particularly Sumatra and Kalimantan.
Smoke from these fires has crossed into neighbouring areas, particularly Sarawak, while dry conditions and the Southwest Monsoon have contributed to the spread of haze across the region.
Indonesia has stepped up firefighting efforts, deploying thousands of personnel alongside helicopters for water-bombing operations and other measures to reach areas that are difficult to access by land.
Malaysia and Indonesia are also increasing cooperation to tackle the situation.

Malaysia has also received permission from Indonesia to conduct cloud-seeding operations in Indonesian airspace near shared border areas. The National Disaster Management Agency and Malaysian Meteorological Department are preparing the operational schedule in coordination with Indonesian authorities.
Indonesia Investigates Alleged Deliberate Fires

Indonesian authorities are also investigating whether some of the fires were deliberately started for land clearing.
As of 22 August, Indonesia's police had identified 72 suspects, many of whom were reportedly farmers and daily workers accused of manually burning land.
Authorities are also working with Indonesia's Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre to investigate whether companies or individuals may have provided funding for the burning activities.
Investigators reportedly recovered items including lighters, fuel, machetes, chainsaws and oil palm seedlings from some locations, raising suspicions that certain fires may have been deliberately started for plantation development.
Indonesia has deployed tens of thousands of personnel and aerial firefighting assets to contain the fires, while continuing to monitor hotspots across affected provinces.
Malaysians Falling Ill As Haze Continues

The worsening air quality is also being reflected in Malaysia's health statistics.
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad previously revealed that asthma cases recorded through the Health Ministry's surveillance system jumped by 259%, increasing from 61 cases in epidemiological week 32 to 219 cases in week 33.
Cases of upper respiratory tract infections also rose by 124%, from 1,637 to 3,674 during the same period.
The Health Ministry has advised Malaysians, especially children, older people and those with respiratory or heart conditions, to take extra precautions when API readings become unhealthy.
People are encouraged to reduce strenuous outdoor activities, stay hydrated and avoid unnecessary exposure to haze.
Those experiencing breathing difficulties or other symptoms are advised to seek medical attention.
Haze And Heat Could Add To Health Risks

Malaysia is also continuing to monitor heat-related illnesses alongside the haze.
Dr Dzulkefly said 90 heat-related illness cases had been recorded nationwide up to epidemiological week 33, including 71 cases of heat exhaustion, 14 cases of heatstroke and five cases of heat cramps.
Nine cases were recorded during week 33 alone, including eight involving participants at SUKMA Selangor 2026. One person required hospital treatment.
With haze and hot weather occurring at the same time, Malaysians are being encouraged to check air quality readings before planning outdoor activities.
What Should You Do During Hazy Conditions?
When API levels reach the unhealthy range, Malaysians should consider reducing time spent outdoors, particularly when haze is visibly heavy.
People with asthma, respiratory conditions and cardiovascular issues should take additional precautions, while children and older adults may also be more sensitive to poor air quality.
Keeping windows closed when outdoor air quality is particularly poor, staying hydrated and avoiding smoking or smoky environments can also help reduce exposure.
For now, authorities in Malaysia and Indonesia continue to monitor the situation closely as efforts to control the fires and improve regional air quality continue.

Haze Worsens Across Malaysia As Air Quality Reaches Unhealthy Levels

Motorists travelling through Kajang and Putrajaya are advised to plan their journeys ahead as several major roads will be closed in stages this week for rehearsals and preparations for the 2026 Merdeka Eve and National Day celebrations.
The closures will affect areas around Kajang Stadium, which will host the Selangor state-level Merdeka Eve celebration on 30 August, as well as multiple roads across Putrajaya ahead of the National Day celebration on 31 August.
Kajang Roads To Close From 26 August

Five main roads around Kajang will be closed in stages ahead of the Selangor state-level Merdeka Eve celebration.
Kajang police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof said the closures are intended to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety during the rehearsals and main event.
Jalan Mahkamah will be fully closed from 26 to 31 August.
Meanwhile, four other roads will be closed at selected times:

<li>Jalan Cempaka Kuning</li>
<li>Jalan Stadium</li>
<li>Jalan Cheras</li>
</ul>
The staged closures will take place on 28 August from 8.30am to 10.30am and again from 7pm to 10pm, followed by another rehearsal on 29 August from 7pm to 10pm.
All five roads will then be fully closed from 8am on 30 August until the Selangor Merdeka Eve celebration ends.
Shuttle Buses Available For Kajang Celebration

Visitors heading to the celebration at Kajang Stadium are advised to use public transport where possible.
Shuttle bus services will be available from several nearby rail stations, including:

Police said Persiaran Perdana between Jalan Kemerdekaan and Lebuh Bestari will be fully closed during the preliminary rehearsals from 26 to 28 August.

Authorities are urging visitors to plan their journeys in advance and use the free shuttle bus services provided by Putrajaya Corporation instead of driving directly to the celebration area.
The additional transport arrangements are intended to reduce congestion and minimise the number of private vehicles entering areas affected by road closures.
Drone Ban And Other Safety Reminders

Members of the public are also reminded that Putrajaya is a no-fly zone, and drones must not be flown without the necessary approval.

Two cannon rounds are expected during the full rehearsal on 29 August, while another 14 rounds will be fired on National Day.

Several Kajang And Putrajaya Roads To Close Ahead Of Merdeka Celebrations

The International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) has confirmed that the academic service of Dr Solehah Yaacob ended on 27 April 2026, months after she drew public attention over several controversial claims about Malay history and civilisation.
The former Arabic language and linguistics academic has since said she plans to challenge the termination at the Industrial Court, claiming she was dismissed with only 24 hours&rsquo; notice and was not given an opportunity to appeal.
IIUM, meanwhile, has clarified that Solehah no longer holds any position at the university and is no longer authorised to represent or claim an affiliation with the institution.
Solehah To Challenge Termination In Industrial Court

Speaking to local media, Solehah described the university&rsquo;s handling of her termination as &ldquo;unprofessional&rdquo;.
She claimed she was dismissed within 24 hours and was not given the opportunity to appeal the decision. She also said IIUM had offered her compensation equivalent to six months&rsquo; salary, but she rejected the offer.
Solehah said she would instead take the matter to the Industrial Court to challenge the termination and have the circumstances surrounding her dismissal examined. She also questioned the timing of the decision, saying that she had received a Malaysia Research Assessment (MyRA) commendation from the Higher Education Ministry just one day before her dismissal.
MyRA, introduced in 2006, is used to assess the research performance and capabilities of universities in Malaysia.

Since launching the original Sambal Nyet Berapi in 2021, Khairul Aming has built one of Malaysia's most successful local food brands. The range later expanded with Dendeng Nyet Berapi and Rendang Nyet Berapi, but fans have been waiting six years for an entirely new sambal.
Now, that wait is over.
According to Khairul, Sambal Nyet Bilis offers a completely different flavour from its predecessor, featuring a richer recipe with more ingredients and a spicier, more aromatic taste.
Unlike the original Sambal Nyet Berapi, which relies heavily on red chillies, the new recipe uses 75% green chillies and 25% red chillies, creating a gentler yet more fragrant heat while maintaining its signature kick.
Fresh anchovies are the star ingredient, complemented by tomatoes, kaffir lime leaves and belacan to produce a sambal inspired by traditional Malaysian flavours.
Personally Sourcing Ingredients Across Malaysia

One of the highlights of the launch was Khairul Aming documenting his journey across Malaysia to source the best local ingredients personally.
Rather than simply purchasing raw materials, he travelled to Setiu, Terengganu, where he joined local fishermen out at sea to witness first-hand the demanding process of catching fresh anchovies. He explained that the experience gave him a greater appreciation for the hard work involved in producing what many Malaysians often consider an everyday ingredient.
He also visited chilli farms in Banting, Selangor, learning directly from local farmers about cultivating high-quality chillies before selecting those best suited for the new sambal recipe.
The approach reflects Khairul's continued emphasis on working closely with Malaysian suppliers while highlighting the people behind the country's food industry.
100% Malaysian From Farm To Factory

Khairul also revealed that every stage of production remains entirely local.
After sourcing ingredients from around the country, Sambal Nyet Bilis is produced at RASAPOP's manufacturing facilities in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, where all processes&mdash;including quality control, cooking, bottling, packaging and distribution&mdash;take place under one roof.
The company now operates three factories capable of producing more than 12,000 bottles daily, while providing employment for around 100 local workers.
Describing the product, Khairul said it is:
"Inspired by local flavours, made using local ingredients, produced by local people for the world to enjoy."
Biggest Product Launch Yet

Khairul Aming has described the upcoming release as the largest product launch since he started his business.
The first sales batch will consist of 125,000 bottles, all of which will be released during a special TikTok LIVE session on:

Local fast-food chain Ahmad's Fried Chicken has officially rebranded as Ahmad's HotChicken, unveiling a refreshed identity alongside one of its boldest moves yet &ndash; the appointment of an "AI CEO" to help manage the business.
The announcement has quickly attracted attention online, with the company claiming to be among the first fast-food brands in Malaysia to integrate artificial intelligence into such a senior leadership role.
AI To Support Operations And Business Decisions

According to Ahmad's HotChicken, the AI CEO will assist with day-to-day operations, marketing, data analysis and strategic decision-making, allowing the company to respond more quickly to market trends and customer needs.
The brand said artificial intelligence will help it make faster, data-driven decisions while enhancing the overall customer experience.
"AI technology enables us to work faster, make decisions based on data and continuously improve the customer experience. It is part of Ahmad's direction to build the fast-food brand of the future," the company said.
While the announcement refers to an "AI CEO", the company has not disclosed exactly which AI system is being used or how much authority it has within the organisation.
Based on the company's statement, the AI appears to function more as a digital executive assistant or decision-support system rather than replacing a human chief executive entirely.
At the time of writing, Ahmad's HotChicken has yet to provide further technical details on how the AI will operate.
More Than Just A Name Change

The rebranding goes beyond a new logo and name.
Ahmad's says it has rebuilt the brand from the ground up, refreshing its menu, recipes, customer experience and overall identity to create what it describes as a more modern and distinctive spicy fried chicken brand.
One of the biggest additions is its new "5 Levels of Heat" system, allowing customers to customise the spiciness of their meals. The heat scale ranges from Scaredy Cat for those who prefer no spice, followed by Low Key, Mid, Nocap Hot, and finally Reaper, which uses the famously fiery Carolina Reaper chilli.
The chain said the idea is to let customers choose a spice level that best suits their own tolerance rather than offering a one-size-fits-all experience. Alongside its fried chicken, Ahmad's HotChicken has also introduced new menu items, including Signature Mac &amp; Cheese, made with three types of cheese and topped with crispy beef bacon.
Some customers have also noticed that several promotional visuals and menu graphics appear to have been generated using AI, although the company has not officially confirmed this.
More Than 40 Outlets Across Malaysia

The rebranded chain currently operates more than 40 outlets across Peninsular Malaysia as well as Sabah and Sarawak.

AI In The CEO's Office Is Still Rare
Although artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly common in customer service and business operations, appointing an AI to a leadership role remains highly unusual.
One of the best-known examples is Dictador Europe, a Polish spirits company that introduced an AI-powered robot named Mika as its CEO in 2023.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong-based gaming and education technology company NetDragon Websoft appointed an AI-powered virtual executive called Tang Yu to oversee organisational management, workflow automation and data-driven business processes.
Whether Ahmad's HotChicken's AI CEO will have a similarly significant role remains to be seen, but the move highlights how Malaysian businesses are beginning to experiment with artificial intelligence beyond traditional customer-facing applications.
