Say Goodbye To Pepsi As KFC & Pizza Hut Will Be Serving Coca-Cola Starting August

Time to make sure we don’t say “One Pepsi please” when we order next time.

Time to make sure we don’t say “One Pepsi please” when we order next time.

After so many years of KFC and Pizza Hut serving Pepsi, it looks like it’s time to say goodbye to the well-loved beverage as two brands will now be switching over to Coca-Cola as their beverage of choice.

QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd – franchise owner and operator of the two, announced that they had inked a multi-year partnership with Coca-Cola Malaysia.

Coca-Cola in stores starting August onwards

The two had released a joint statement stating that the new beverages will compromise of the Coca-Cola beverage line which includes fountain dispensers, bottles and cans at all KFC and Pizza Hut outlets.

“Beginning August, Coca-Cola Malaysia is the beverage supplier of KFC and Pizza Hut serving diverse refreshing Coca-Cola drinks in selected KFC and Pizza Hut restaurants.”

But if you don’t see Coca-Cola immediately, don’t worry as they are still undergoing the project to fully transition to serving Coca-Cola products by early September. Currently there are 1180+ KFC and Pizza Hut restaurants nationwide. Now that’s a lot! It isn’t easy to deliver stocks to all these restaurants on the dot.

“The company is more than committed to ensure that the standards in terms of service delivery, innovation, and customer satisfaction is raised even further.”

“Over the last two years, we have been able to grow despite the prevailing challenges by innovating all areas of the business and will continue to do so. We believe this partnership will further widen our reach and we hope to delight our customers further,” said Nehchal Khanna, QSR Brands chief executive officer and managing director.

Now the real question is, what happened to Pepsi?

Truth be told, we don’t know the real answer to this. After a bit of checking online, most international outlets for KFC and Pizza Hut are still serving Pepsi on their menu except for Singapore who had signed up with Coca-Cola back in July 2022.

Back in May, Pepsi had also backed out from sponsoring the Super Bowl in the US which is dubbed as one of the biggest sporting events in the world. Not only that, they had also bowed out from the Super Bowl Halftime Show which normally feature some of the biggest names in Hollywood performing during the halftime game of the National Football League (NFL).

Looks like it’s going to be difficult for us to tell our heads to say “one coke please” instead of asking for a Pepsi. In fact, I’m just as sad cause there’s no more Mountain Dew on the menu 😭
