In 2024 alone, toll-free days during Aidilfitri, Deepavali, Chinese New Year, and Christmas incurred costs of RM80.07 million, RM42.31 million, RM41.21 million, and RM38 million, respectively.</p>
<p>Nanta highlighted that the financial burden of toll exemptions was fully borne by the government, with concessionaires incurring no losses. On average, each day of toll-free travel costs the government approximately RM20 million.</p>
